:-} Thanks Smile! It was an intense battle between
truly great athletes. Here are some pics from the team hand-waving event.
I have here former world class hand waver, Sticking-out Tongue Smile.
Stick, may I call you Stick? Can you tell us what these players are doing?
:-} I understand the real trick to the game is timing. Can you tell us more about that. :-P Of course. There is one player in the middle throwing a basketball at the wavers, and that is a very difficult thing to maintain you concentration through. Alot of the younger players can't handle it. The trick of course is to wave in exact synchronous with the ball, that way it just bounces back to the thrower. But as you can see this is a very difficult game. |

:-P Here is a great example of a true veteran. She has excellent composure and is concentrating all her energy into the moment. In sports we call this the "mumph". It's kinda like the force, but can only be said correctly with your tongue sticking out. :-} Thanks Stick we'll be seeing you. Now onto other events. |
|
:-} Some players were not sure about whether they should be throwing or waving but the judges soon straightened them out. | ![]() |

:-} Or they had the disciplinary recourse of hanging. While lynchings are becoming more rare these days, the judges still have it as a last resort for unruly players.
:-} It came to light after the event that the judges had misplaced their marbles at first. While not required by the referee union, most everyone agrees the refs should have at least two between them. Here is a behind the scenes photo of the refs discussing the crisis. | ![]() |
|
:-} Fortunately the marbles were soon found and the event could continue.
:-} At an event of this size there are always alot of support staff to make sure everything runs smoothly. But we just weren't sure what they all do... | ![]() |
