Wadi Al Lith Trip, January 2000

Jeddah, Wadi Al Lith, Dhee Ayan Village, Baha, Bani Saad, Taif, Jeddah

This is Benjamin's version of the Wadi Al Lith Trip, January 2000 - an adventure taken by the Spencer family. It all about a desert trek, desert and wadi driving, desert camping, 4x4 off-road, sand duning in our Land Rover Discovery in Saudi Arabia.

Scroll down to see these images later in this webpage.

What wheel drive: 2 (But you can have more fun in 4 wheel drive)

Families, singles, bird watchers, and animal lovers, but especially familes with small kids because the kids can play in the water, would like to go to Wadi Al Lith. There was fish, birds, sheep, goats, cows and donkies at the wadi. One thing good about it is the water and the grass near where we camped.

The thing that worried us was the snake we saw. Plus it was preety relaxing because the kids can play as the moms and dads can talk.

Some stuff that was interesting was the Hot Springs and the donkies in the wadi. The Hot springs were very dirty with hot water.

We used the book "Desert Treks from Jeddah" by Patricia Barbor as our guide for most of the trip.

My Dad has made some notes for general Desert Treks in Saudi Arabia including some specific Land Rover Discovery Modifications for this trip like the addition of our trailer.
