I am the architect of my life.

I may change myself at any time, I may choose a different path.
I become what I allow to affect me. It is my decision to respond to and receive experience. It is my perception that shapes my reality. At any time I may change my perception and my reality will become new.
I may build a new foundation of values; I may decide at any moment of my existence to accept or refuse a standard of living.
I may create new aspects of my personality and it will become me because I decided so.
I am the fullest potential that I accept for myself. The most awesome power that I yield is the ability to change everything that defines who I am by erasing what is now and writing a new story.
The story of my life will be written by my choices and the ending is as much as I can imagine. I am every decision that I accept as my own.
Understand. I am the architect of my life." -Shane L. Durbec

"Forgiveness is a choice.  Don't stand there and wait for some miracle to wash away the anger and bitterness and the hurt." --Dr. Phil

Here's what Dr. Phil has to say about "Forgiveness"...

Our tip today has to do with forgiveness. We are real quick to be judgmental of others, and we need to recognize that forgiveness is a choice. It's not a feeling. We don't wake up in the morning and feel it. We wake up in the morning and choose it. And, when you choose to remain angry and bitter and hateful and resentful, then you're locked in an emotional prison.

Forgiveness is not saying, "It's OK what you did." What you need to be willing to do is say, "I choose to forgive you for me. I don't want to be locked in to this bond of hatred and bitterness anymore."

The past is over. Not even God can change what has already happened. But, what you can do is choose what will happen. Remember forgiveness is not saying, "It's OK." Forgiveness is choosing a better life for you, and you deserve it.

It isn't the mountain ahead that wears you out - it's the grain of sand in your shoe. ~ Robert Service

People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily. ~Zig Ziglar

Doubt & Faith
* Doubt sees the difficulties, Faith sees the way;
* Doubt sees the darksome night, Faith sees the day.
* Doubt dreads to take the step, Faith soars on high;
* Doubt whispers, "Who Believes?"  Faith answers, "I."

iVillager sunny524: But how do you go about changing your life?

Iyanla Vanzant: It all depends on what you want to do. Nobody can make that choice for you. You have to have a vision for yourself; you have to believe that you deserve that vision and are worthy of living it. You set priorities to move toward the vision -- and then you move your butt!

iVillager sjs5859: Did you have a hard time turning your own life around?

Iyanla Vanzant: Of course I did -- especially because I was my own worst enemy. I wanted to be right. I was afraid to fail. I wanted other people to choose for me. Then I got mad at them when the choices didn't work. I did all the normal human stuff -- until I got clear! I got clear about who I was, what I wanted, and then I took total responsibility for making it happen. That's how change occurs.
