Cortland Winter Guard, located
in Central New York, is in the IRA class of Mid-York Color Guard Circuit and
in it's 24th season of competition. We are sponsored by Cortland City Schools and local businesses.

In the last 10 years Cortland has been a small guard with big hearts. They
have competed in the Novice and SRA classes. The Guard has practice
3 times a week, 3-7 hours each practice with dedicated members and staff. In 2005 the guard won a 3rd
place medal for their show Thank You for the Music. After 8 years of changes, rebuilding, struggles, more changes and more rebuilding,
the staff decided to compete in the IRA class and perform to an upbeat rock song. In 2013, the guard entered the season; in a new class, with core members,
members from a folded sister guard, new members and a new challenge; which proved to be the right recipe. After a very hard working, fun and competitive season, Cortland captured the gold
medal in the IRA class at the Mid-York Color Guard Championships on April 6, 2013!! This was a first time 1st place in the IRA class and the second 1st place win. The first 1st place
win was in 1989 in the Novice class.
