GREEN

Eiland Green of 1302 Maple died at 7 O'clock Tuesday October 1, 1940. He was born Oct 19, 1870 in Selma Alabama and came to Texas with his parents. He married Mary E. Brock November 18, 1894 at Orangeville, Texas and they came to Oklahoma in 1922, moving to Duncan in 1923 to Empire city. He was a Methodist for 47 years. Survivors include 3 daughters and 1 son; Mrs. John R. Wilson of Lawton, Mrs. David R. Gray of Duncan, Mrs J. E. Blair of Duncan and Robert Green of the home. His 4 grandchildren are Mary Louise and John R. Wilson of Lawton, Elsie May Gray and John Edward Blair of Duncan. 4 Brothers are John of Sherman, Texas, Marion and Will of Celeste, Texas and 2 sisters: Mrs Miller Powell of Greenville, Texas and Mrs. Bart Beggs of Woodston, Texas and a nephew, Connor Green of Duncan. Services at the First Methodist Church will be conducted by Rev. Lemuel Fen with burial in the Reed Cemetery of Myra, Texas.


HANSON

Infant of Mr. and Mrs. Talmade Hanson died at birth (Aug. 1940). It is survived by parents, a brother Ronald Talmadge age 3 1/2 years, Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Massy and Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hanson. j Services will be at 2 PM Sunday at the Duncan Cemetery.


HARMON

Mrs. Lillie Harmon died at 5 O'Clock (no date, 1940). she was born Aug 23, 1856 in Texas and came here in 1907. she returned to Texas for 17 years and moved back to Duncan in 1934. A Methodist. She is survived by 2 step-sons and 3 step-daughters including: Mrs. W. b. charter and Mrs. P.F. Rice of Graham. Services will be Wednesday at 2 PM at the Tussy Schoolhouse conducted by Rev. Barr, pastor of the Baptish Church of Countyline with burial in the Tussey Cemetery.


HODGES

Edward Duv Hodges who lived 1/4 miles south of Ratliff Corner died Oct. 22, 19430. He was born Feb 24, 1870 in McNairy Co. Tenn. and came from Texas to I.T.(Indian Territory). 45 years ago and had lived at his present home for 32 years. He was a carpenter. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. B. E. Hodges, and 3 children; Mrs. M.P. Widemun, Mrs. A. M. McNeal and Fred Hodges of Alma. Brothers E. A. Hodges of Chillicothe, Texas and Will of San Angelo, Texas and Luther of McAlister. Sisters are Mrs. W. H. Reynolds of Pauls Valley, Mrs. Tommie Wesmorland of McAlester; 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Services will be Wednesday at 3 PM at the Alma Cemetery conducted by Rev. Ward, the new pastor of the Alma Methodist Church.


HOLDER

,br> M. Walter Holder was born Aug 4, 1883 and died Sept 4, 1940. He came here in Feb. 1916 from Texas with his parents and had been active in civic affairs. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Carol E. Holder; 2 sisters, Mrs. G. A. Peacock of Dallas and Mrs. E. A. Oliver of Sanvehita? Texas, an adopted son, B. A. Vineyard of San Antonio, Texas, 3 nephews and 3 nieces. Services will be held at the R-G Chapel at 1:30 Tursday Sept. 5th conducted by Rev. Roy L. Hurst and a second service at the Methodist Church in Frisco Texas the following day with interment in the Rowlette Cemetery.


HUDLOW

Mrs. martha Ann Hudlow died April 5, 1940. She was born March 29, 1860 and came from Arkansas 45 years ago and was a member of the Church of Christ. She is survived by 5 daughters; Mr. G. A. Riddles of Comanche, Mrs. Robert Pickett of Duncan, Mrs. Jas. Dempsey of Norman, and Mrs. Jim Lindsey and Mrs. Francis Willman of el Reno; also 1 brother, Tommie George of Ryan. Services will be at the Comanche Chruch of Christ conducted by Rev. Smith of Waurika with burial in the comanche Cemeter. Bearers will be Joe Kinder, John Kinder, R.S. Bristow, Boss Jennings, Abe yates and Jim Thurlough.


ISBELL

bert Isbell who lived on the south edge of Duncan on Highway 81 died Aug. 2, 1940. He was born March 20, 1875 in Searcy, Ark. and came to Duncan 40 years ago working first as a sign painter and then as a florist. He is survived by his wife, Mayme, and 2 children; Bert Jr. age 18 and Betty Jo age 11 of the home. Services will be at the R-G Chapel conducted by Rev. S. E. Armstrong with music by Judson Bailey of the Immanuel Baptist Church. Interment in Duncan Cemetery.


JOHNSON

Samuel David Johnson of 14 N. 4th St. died July 1, 1940. He was born Nov. 5, 1867 and came to Comanche in 1907 where his first wife died in 1913. He then married Mrs. Alm Parnell and was a member of the Assembly of god Church. Survivors include his wife, 2 daughters and 6 sons. Mrs. Ethel Reavis of Comanche, Miss Verna Mae Johnson of the home, C.M. of Comanche, roy of Oklahoma City, S. J. of Brownwood, Texas, Paul of Pampa, Texas, Estel of Sebastian, Texas, Roy of Gainsville, Tx and 10 grandchildren. services will be conducted by Rev. Paul Riggs at the Assembly of God Church with interment in the Duncan Cemetery.


KESLER

James Wm. Kesler of 503 Elm died (no date, 1940). He was born Sept. 24, 1882 in Georgia. he had been an insurance salesman and sold Watkins products, a Baptist, 32 degree Mason and a member of Woodmen of the World. He is survived by his wife Ovie, son Max Kesler of Okla. Univ. at Norman, and 2 daughters; Mrs. Hugh Sisk of Duncan and Mrs. J.E. Thrasher of Decatur, Ala. Services will be at the First Baptis Church conducted by Rev. Frank Sutton, Rev. roy L. Hurst and Rev. Knox L. Bowling with interment in Duncan Cemetery.
