On this page I'll describe some of Davey's family and friends.

Davey and I could talk about anything

Mom

David's Mom was born in Charleston, WV on July 10, 1950.  She was divorced and had no children when she met David Hood.  She always said that she waited until she was 35 to have David Andrew and that Davey was so special. David's Mom was an insurance claim supervisor and she sings, plays piano and has sung with bands and as a soloist at nightclubs. David and his mom could always talk about anything, and she was straight with him.  He could always count on her to believe in him and love him no matter what. A lot of his "heart" came from her, he was very sensitive and a deep thinker.  Davey loved his Mom and Dad.

Dad

David's Dad, was born in Clarksburg, WV, October 17, 1948 and graduated from Washington-Irving High School. He plays the guitar and sings, having made a record that played on the radio when he was around 17 years old. He is in the WV Air National Guard and is now a Chief of Aircraft Maintenance.  He was divorced and had two children, Tanya and Travis prior to marrying Debbie. Davey's Mom and Dad sang at various weddings throughout the valley. Davey idolized his father and a lot of his humor came from his father. Davey's Dad was in the Persian Gulf War and Davey was so proud of his father for his dedication to his country and his family.

Davey's Family

Davey's family consisted of his Mom and Dad, brother Travis, and sister Tanya.  He had extended family in Dunbar, WV and Clarksburg, WV.  One of his favorite things to do was to go camping in Hardy County, every year with both of his grandfathers, Jack Carpenter and David Hood, along with David's wife Patty, whom he called GranPatty. He would often take his friends, Drew and Dustin with him.  They would hunt and fish, and just have a good time on the mountains at the Henry Tusing Farm.

Davey's Relatives

In June of 2002, David Andrew's family had a reunion, not realizing that this would be the last time we would all be together before Davey died.  He was 6'5, the tallest of the Hood family.  Here he is with his brother Travis Hood, sister Tanya Hood Patterson(who was 3 months pregnant with his 2nd niece by Tanya, she is also the mother of Kyleigh Marie), his grandmother, whom he called "GrandMark" (Markey Hood) and his niece, Megan with whom he shared a special relationship.  Davey's pierced ears got her attention at a young age and she wanted her ears pierced like "Davey Andwooh".
