Chapter: 2
"Yes sweet pea." said Farmer to the phone. "I'm sorry I didn't get your letter, but I promise I will get you at the airport tomorrow evening. You get some rest and I'll see you soon, and I'm sure you'll get along great with Fluffy, and the gang....oh, okay, not gang, but her friends...okay, love you too. Bye" Farmer put down the phone, his nerves shot, it was the afternoon on a Friday and he knew he had to break the news to Fluffy quick.
Just then Fluffy and her friends Ash and Alex came through the door of his apartment and put down their books. They were talking energetically about the days activates in class and almost didn't see his worried look.
"What's wrong Farmer?" asked Alex. "You look worried."
"Is it the Count?" asked Ash. Farmer shook his head.
"No, it's not that." said Farmer. He took out the picture frame from the top drawer of his desk and showed it to them.
"A new vampire." asked Fluffy, Farmer went white at the thought,
"NO!" said Farmer, "it's my niece Molly. She is coming to visit me from America and is going to be staying a week."
Fluffy looked at Farmer as though he had gone mad. "Your niece is coming here? When?" asked Fluffy.
"Tomorrow." He said. Alex dropped his books and joined the others in shocked stares.
"Farmer this isn't really a good time, the Count is really after me." said Fluffy taking the photo and looking at the girl. She was about Fluffy's age or even older with dark brown hair and oval framed glasses. "She is not safe here."
"I know Fluffy, but I promised her, and she is coming." said Farmer. "I want you to keep an eye on her while she is here."
"Farmer, I'm a slayer, not a babysitter!"
"She is not a baby. She is older then you, but her mom's wrath is much worse then a vampire bite. Just make sure she is safe. I have a bad feeling."
"Bad feeling or indigestions?" asked Alex.
"It doesn't matter!" said Farmer, "She is coming tomorrow and you have to get to training. Not slouching!" Alex and Fluffy quickly left the room to go to the garden and practice leaving Ash behind.
"Farmer, what is really going on." asked Ash.
Farmer breathed a deep sigh. "I lied."
"Your niece isn't coming?" she asked.
"No, she is coming." He said, "It's just that she...." He couldn't say what he wanted. He just sat down.
"Its okay Farmer, we will take care of it."
