A thick smoke cleared and revealed something lying on the ground beneath a crumpled form that once held some form of life.
The object was shiny and black with tiny light green speckles covering both ends of a fairly cylindrical shape. A man-like
form adorned in a reddish-brown uniform drew closer to the strange object. It seemed to glow even brighter as he moved toward
it as if the oject could somehow sense the man's close proximity. Several others dressed in the same uniform ran by with no
recognition of the man or his unique find. The man seemed to notice nothing except the exotic cylinder.
As he reached to retreive it an urgent message came through his receiver. He became startled and woke as if from a hypnotic
trance. "All crew members report to the Transport immediately!" a masculine voice boomed inside the soldier's headgear.
"I repeat, all crew members report to the Transport for immediate evacuation! This is not a drill!" The message
seemed go unnoticed as the man was once again captivated by the eerie flourescent glow of this mysterious object. It seemed
to be changing properties right before his eyes. Where the object was once black it was now a luminescent, indigo blue. The
light green specks were now almost a bright yellow. What was this object? It was rather small. He could probably conceal it
discreetly in his uniform. No one would have to even know. He received a second urgent message to return to the Transport
immediately followed by an order to comply. Another message was received. It was a command not to bring anything aboard the
Transport that was not first checked through Doqtr Hast, the authority on Intergalactic Toxins during this mission. "That's
an order, Revnor!", the commanding officer barked out into his receiver. He stared blankly at its captivating
radiance. "Yes sir", the soldier replied coldly. He reached out with an amphibious hand and hid it in his uniform.
