1. The Prime Slime Trashy TV Product Release material was sent out electronically by the Topps Company, Inc. on Tuesday, April 26, 2016. The only brand-new material pictured within the mock-up card artwork was an image created by Mark Pingitore for card KIM Kar Trashy N.; somewhat painful nomenclature, but it gets the point across as to what the new set will deliver. The product release also announced the continuation of the 'bonus' cards for the Gross Bears and Bathroom Buddies subsets along with a GPK Wacky Packages subset based off of GPK image located within previously released Wacky Packages sets.

2. A Prime Slime Trashy TV Summer Preview subset of the ten parody cards were exclusively released on the Topps online webiste for a 48hr period on Wednesday, May 25th 2016 through Friday the 27th until noon of that day. The complete set could be purchased for $29.99 for all ten cards or $9.99 for each 2-card set; and, for the first time with FREE shipping. The online set is strangely labeled with the 2016S1 set title and slogan 'As American As Apple Pie'; the 10-card subset also contains two cards with the first same name due to the characters on both programs; Piper. The TV show parodies include: Orange is the New Black, Scream, Beauty & the Beast, American Ninja Warrior and Undercover Boss. Numbers printed: 1a Orange Gina/1b Imprisoned Piper: 182, 2a Screamin’ Stu/2b Pierced Piper: 182, 3a Beatrice the Beast/3b Catty Catherine: 183, 4a American Ninja Warren/4B KAL R Competition: 183 and 5a Undercover Bo/5b Bossy Bobby: 182.

3. An exclusive, Giant 10-card set of the Prime Slime Trashy TV 'Summer Preview' was released at the San Diego Comic Con in July of 2016 at the Atomic Toybox Entertainment, Inc. booth for $20. The set is an enlarged replica of the exclusive 'Summer Preview' set sold by Topps online in May of 2016 that acts as promotional material for the upcoming Prime Slime Trashy TV set to be released in October of 2016.

4. A Prime Slime Fall TV preview subset of the ten parody cards were exclusively released on the Topps online webiste for a one week period on Tuesday, September 13th through Tuesday the 20th, 2016. The complete set could be purchased for $29.99 for all ten cards or $9.99 for each 2-card set. Once again, the online set is strangely brandished with the 2016S1 set title and slogan 'As American As Apple Pie'. The subset contains artwork painted by artists Brent Engstrom and JungHwa Im
. The TV show parodies include: The Big Bang Theory, MacGyver (with a young Angus "Mac" MacGyver), The Excorcist, Lethal Weapon and Ash vs Evil Dead. Numbers printed: 1a/b 'Big Bang Theo': 215, 2a/b 'Adhering Angus': 213, 3a/b 'Transformed Thomas': 213, 4a/b 'Revolting Roger': 213 and 5a/b 'Slashed Ash': 229.

5. A Prime Slime Awards subset of the twenty parody cards were exclusively released on the Topps online webiste for a one week period on Monday, September 19th through Monday the 26th, 2016 that poked fun at the PrimeTime Emmy Awards. The complete set could be purchased for $49.99 for all twenty cards or $9.99 for each 2-card set. Once again, the online set is strangely brandished with the 2016S1 set title and slogan 'As American As Apple Pie', but will be showcased within the 2016S2 page. The subset contains artwork painted by artists Joe Simko, David Gross and Brent Engstrom
. The TV show character parodies include: All the Way with Bryan Cranston wearing his infamous Breaking Bad undewear, Cuba Gooding in The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, Taraji P. Henson's Cookie Dion character from Empire, Producer and actor John Travolta for The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, Kevin Spacey from House of Cards, Kit Harington's character Jon Snow for Game of Thrones, The shared Saturday Night Live host award for Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, Ellie Kemper from Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, the Saturday Night Live host Larry David who played the Bernie Sanders character and Inside Amy Schumer. Numbers printed: Absorbed Amy 106, Lookalike Larry 106, Ecstatic Ellie 106, Torn Tina 106, Kit's Kingdom 106, King Kevin 106, John Revolta 107, Cookie Monster 106, Convicted Cuba 106 and Bombastic Bryan 106.

6. An exclusive, 10-card set of the Prime Slime Trashy TV 'Pack' was released at the New York Comic Con in October of 2016 at the Topps booth for $30. The images are exclusive to this set and were sold the weekend following the 'street date' release of the regualar Prime Slime Trashy TV set on October 5th, 2016. Three images were painted by artists David Gross and two images were completed by artist JungHwa Im.

7. Artist Brent Engtrom's concept for cards 5a GENE Wolf and 5b Hairy HARRY within the Horror TV subset, based off of MTV's Teen Wolf, is a Tribute to OS4 cards 161a Shorned SEAN and 161b HY Gene painted by artist John Pound; although, where as Pound's piece has the figure shaving not only the facial hair but several layers of epidermis, Engstrom has the shaver 'clogged' with canine hair and the blood droplets on the table replaced by tufts of fur. Both images contain the same 'shaving cream' can.

8. The Sci-Fi TV subset cards for the 'Game of Thrones' parody image 1a JOHN Snowy and 1b Cold KIT (color rough) by artist Mark Pingitore has a chilling resemblance to an OS1 character; it's a tribute to piece to John Pound's
32a Frigid BRIDGET and 32b Chilly MILLIE. Both characters are found in a solid block of ice, frozen to the bone with frost icicles and the cold shivers. The Reality TV subset for cards 2a Pained PHARRELL and 2b Bloody BLAKE by artist David Gross has the OS6 221a Cracked CRYSTAL and 221b Shrill JILL stuck in the background as the Voice contestant.

9. Another tribute piece can be found within the Daytime Talk Show TV subset for cards 4a Unhealthy HODA and 4b Crocked KATHIE LEE (the Today show parody) by artist Joe Simko that pays homage to John Pound's OS1 cards 9a Boozin' BRUCE and 9b Drunk KEN. Both images can be found with the 'pink elephant', but instead of the 'blue bunny' of Pound's piece Simko went with a 'blue peacock' to coincide with NBC's TV mascot and station symbol. If you look closely, the GPK wine bottle sports the OS16 character for John Pound's 637a Raisin' ELLA and 637b Grape VI unpublished cards (later published as Flashback cards 69a and 69b with the same names). Artist Mark Pingitore previously released a more direct tribute translation for his Slop Culture Kids line earlier in 2016 titled Tipsy TYRION and Half MANNY; it showcases the true non-reversed OS1 imagery that Topps corrected for the Abrams GPK book, but changed up the characters to coincide with the 'Game of Thrones' animal sigils: a 'yellow llion with green barf for the house of Lannister instead of the 'green snake', the 'blue direwolf' of house Stark instead of the 'blue bunny' and a 'pink dragon' of house Targaryen instead of the 'pink elephant'.

10. Possibly due to current Partnerships and product licenses -- Topps was unable to, or unwilling to, parody any TV program for ABC Studios (Star Wars trading cards, etc. owned by Disney) or the AMC network (the Walking Dead and Preacher non-sport trading cards).

1. The Value box Exclusive Chase Subsets stem from earlier Topps sets; the Gross Bears (Big Bad Buttons) released in 1985 is a parody button set of the 1980s Care Bears and the Bathroom Buddies released in 1996 which was a spin-off non-parody set in the like-ness of the GPK (and Trash Can Trolls) released in 1996. The Wal*Mart (and future Topps Online Value box?) contains, for the first time on small card, 6 images from the Gross Bears set; all artwork was completed by artist Tom Bunk. The Target Value box contains 6 cards (3 twins) from the unpublished Bathroom Buddies 2nd Series set; all artwork was also completed by artist Tom Bunk. If continuted to be received well, Topps will continue releasing the Gross Bears and Bathroom Buddies cards in future Garbage Pail Kids sets. Please visit the pages below for additional information on the revived releases.

2. The popular trend of using an Original Series (OS) GPK character for packaging and promotional material continues with the 2016S2 'Prime Slime Trashy TV' set where the OS1 image for cards 10a Tee-Vee STEVIE and 10b Geeky GARY (named after Mark Newgarden acquaintances). The nostalgic character for OS1 ADAM Bomb has been used ad nauseum for several releases over the years and the character for OS3 Snooty SAM was recently used for the 2016S1 'As American As Apple Pie' wrapper and box mascot. For the 2015S2 '30th GPK Anniversary' set artist Brent Engstrom paid tribute to OS1 character Tee-Vee STEVIE with a NES (Ninentdo Entertainment System) parody for the 80's Spoof subset cards 25a N.E.S. NESS - 25b Plugged PETE. These images definitely tap into or nostalgic psyche.

3. The Prime Slime Trashy TV Summer preview subset contains a parody painted by artist Joe Simko for cards 1a Orange GINA and 1b Imprisoned PIPER that pays tribute to an OS9 character painted by Tom Bunk for cards 343a Con VIC and 343b AL Catraz pictured below; concept by Lay Lynch. The Prime Slime Awards subset card 10a Absorbed AMY and 10b Stuffed SCHUMER contains an x-ray machine that per artist Brent Engstrom was inspired by Tom Bunk's ANS3 21a X RAY and 21b TANNER Scanner character. Two of Joe Simko's characters pay tribute to Original Series paintings by John Pound; the color and split character scheme of cards 7a Torn TINA and 7b Partitioned POEHLER that mimicks OS3 cards 118a Half-NELSON and 118b Glandular ANGELA and cards 4a JOHN Revolta and 4b Tosses TRAVOLTA that resemble OS13 cards 515a Wretched RICHARD and 515b BILLY Ache.

4. The original concept for cards 3a MO Tel and 3b Ab NORMA within the Horror TV subset that was approved by Topps contained no distinct Stitches within the conceptual stage; the stitches were added to the color rough phase by artist Brent Engstrom and the image was again approved by Topps, thus, the stitches show up in the original artwork image seen below. However, Topps requested the removal of the stitches for the final printed card image, as seen on the 'Artwork Gallery' page, so the final artwork image does not contain stitches. The concept, based off of A&E's Bates Motel shows how 'close' Norman and Norma Bates has become in Norman's mind; almost inseparable; the image is roughly based off of John Pound's conjoined characters from the OS2 and OS3 Garbage Pail Kids sets.

5. The original concepts for Engstrom's 3a Burger BOB and 3b Pat Patty (named after one of Brent's friends with a similar face; sans grill marks) and 4a Regular JOE and 4b Barfin' BENSON were a bit different. The parody of Bob's Burgers (Fox) had the father's head, who runs the fast food joint, as part of his body in between to bun halves. The parody of Regular Show (Fox) had the two best friend protaganists giving each other a high-five in the background because their boss, Benson, is puking up 'free' gumballs.

6. Artist Neil Camera, a revered Wacky Packages painter, is known in the GPK realm as the artist who has created card back artwork, motion cards and the submission of an umpteen amount of concepts over the years has taken the plunge and created GPK card front artwork for the first time starting with this release. Two pieces to be exact -- both can be found in the new Prime Slime Trashy TV GPK set within the 'Syndicated' subset as cards 6a Mashed ASH and 6b RON Over b (M*A*S*H parody) and 7a Quirky KIRK and 7b TRENT Trek (Star Trek parody). Camera took the unprecedented step in posting original final artwork on eBay with no reserve price and a very low starting bid; not only did the high bidder receive the impressive final artwork used for the card images, but also the color rough and several tight pencils.

7. As outlined in the product release materials, several GPK Wacky Packages images have been pulled from previous Topps releases and used as a Hobby exclusive subset.
