The first Production Run of the ANS7 GPK set was released during the last week of December in 2007 for the hobby edition, whereas the retail version was released in early 2008; the cards all have a 2008 copyright. The Pop-Up card inserts all have a 2004 copyright and appear to be leftover concepts from the ANS3 set that contained Pop-Up cards.

For the advertisement material, both the Fold-Out Brochure and Sell Sheet have the new Tag-Line 'MEGA PACKS'; including the mock-up box image. The Promo card back still has the 'GROSS STICKERS' tag-line and the 'SUPER-GROSS STICKERS' tagline has been dropped. Once again, the box arrangement has the GPK logo in a double-stacked, banner style header rather than a straight banner that started with ANS6.

The fourth U.S. GPK set to have a distributed Promo Card which was released at the San Diego Comic Convention in July of 2007; the second printed ANS 'P1' card. The first promo card is ANS3 P1 CHRISTINA Ugliera, the second is the unnumbered ANS5 'P0' Batty BRAD card and the third is the ANS6 P2 Alien ALAN card. The fold-out brochure shows the character with a blue nameplate; these promo cards are non die-cut and non-stickers with no 'PEEL HERE' arrow printed on card stock only. The back of the card has a new oval bubble for the promo card number in the lower right hand corner. The first GPK set to have various tie-in Promo and Bonus cards released within the same set; see the promotional material for 'Osaka Popstar' further below.

The first GPK series to have a 110 card base set, on a 110 card uncut sheet—55 'A' cards and 55 'B' cards, and all-new Mega Packs. Note, within non-specialty boxes. The orginal series GPK sets contains base sets up to 88 singles, 44 cards with twins, on a 132 card uncut sheet—one and a half sets). The All-New Series sets 1 thru 6 contain base sets of 80 singles, 40 cards with twins, on a 80 card uncut sheet.

Personalized Sketch Cards from the artists were still a craze within the GPK cummunity through ANS7 and beyond. Sketch cards became popular during the official Topps GPK release for the ANS4 anniversary set. Collectors are able to request their own concepts and see them visualized by the GPK artists in their own unique style, oftentimes with a spin. Topps would later start releasing sketch cards for almost every GPK release starting with the Flashback and Brand-New Series sets, over-saturating the hobby. Pictured below is an OS3 104b Barren AARON color sketch card by artist Brent Engstrom painted in 2007.

The loco-Motion and Jig-Saw Puzzle cards are the new chase card insert themes for the ANS7 set with the Motion cards animated by Colin Walton; the Activity (aka Action Punch Out) and Pop-Ups cards have been used in previous All-New Series releases.

Next-gen GPK artist Dave Gross' final artwork for cards 49a TYLER Tilt and 49b Pinball WILLARD pays tribute to several GPK characters of the past, particularly the first three series. The artwork contains the OS1 character from cards 8a ADAM Bomb and 8b Blasted BILLY in the center of the pinball table, contains the OS2 character heads to the right of the picture from cards 44a SY Clops and 44b One-Eyed JACK next to cards 81a Split KIT and 81b Mixed-Up MITCH and also the OS3 character heads to the left of the picture from cards 110a Snooty SAM and 110b U.S. ARNIE next to cards 93a DREW Blood and 93b Bustin' DUSTIN. These images are applications and not painted characters.

The set has two different GPK characters with the Same Forname for cards 8b Ol' Faith PHIL and 30a Foamy PHIL.

Per Jeff Zapata, the art director for the NPD Department in charge of the GPK brand, any human fingers placed within a piece of artwork was referred to as Mr. Hand during that period; so any instructions to "Place Mr. Hand in the painting..." was often told to the artists over the phone, etc., during critiques.

Next-gen GPK artist Luis Diaz's notorious LD Monster which is located within previous ANS artwork is also pictured in cards 26a Waft WYATT and 26b Windy WENDEL, drawn as part of the brain matter to the left of the character's eyes; Topps tried to keep this sort of artist-branding out of the artwork. The piece also contains two ANS GPK magnets on the microwave; the first characer is 1 of 9 Varicose WAYNE and the second character not seen on the printed card is 9 of 9 WILLIAM Won't Tell. Lastly, the artwork contains a 'MUNNY' (a blank, vinyl toy made by the American company Kidrobot) figure that Diaz created back in 2006 of the OS10 character from cards 400a Varicose WAYNE and 400b ELAINE Vein that was displayed on the front cover of the Miami New Times.

The eighteenth series to contain cards with the GPK Acronym (or initialism) found within the artwork; the GPK acronym located on the basketball of cards 3a Offense SPENCE and 3b Rebound ROY, on the juicer appliance of cards 17a O.J. JOSÉ and 17b Juiced JAYDEN, on the football helmet of cards 23a Gator ABE and 23b We WINNIE, on the grafittied wall of cards 36a Car JACK and 36b Scrap HEATH, on the parodied Play-Doh container of cards 41a Sculpted SCOTT and 41b Molded MIGUEL, on the All-Stars parody shoe (covered by the GPK banner) for cards 43a Walked-On WALKER and 43b DENNIS Shoe, on the Tales of Death book for cards 45a MANUEL Labor and 45b LANDON Scaping, on the pinball machine of cards 49a TYLER Tilt and 49b Pinball WILLARD, on the gold chain of cards 51a BILLY Bling and 51b GIL Grill and on the baker's cap of cards P1 and 55a Dough BOYD and 55b Pills BARRY.

Veteran GPK artist John Pound had talked to John Cafiero of the Misfits and Osaka Popstar bands several times in the past and it was Cafiero's idea in 2006 for Pound to paint a Wacky Packages bonus sticker that could be included in their upcoming Osaka Popstar CD; the limited edition Wacky Packages sticker was printed on a thin sticker stock rather than the thicker card stock collectors are used to. The back of the Bonus sticker actually states John Pound as the artist and Caf Muzeck as the creator of the 'pop can' (the character is holding) and the Osaka Popstar logo. This crossover parody tie-in was also used for the card characters 38a Drum KIT and 38b Tom TOM; Pound fleshed out the original concept by Mark Pingitore and added the Osaka Popstar logo in the background along with the band members. The image ties together nicely with both franchises and has a great Japanese advertising feel.

The first set to have 10 Stickers Per Pack, called Mega packs; all previous GPK sets had 5 stickers per pack (not including special insert chase cards for the All-New Series sets, specialty market releases, etcetera). However, 5 Sticker packs can also be found for this release as specialty retail stores with the 'Mega Packs' removed from the wrapper image. It is also the first All-New Series wrapper to have a $1.99 price logo to accomodate the extra sticker cards.

In April of 2008, after the release of the ANS7 set, a special Promo Card of P2 Drum KIT was handed out at the Spring Philly Non-Sport Show and at the New York Comic Con (April 18th to the 20th) with the Osaka Popstar Live EP CD tie-in advertisement on the backside showcasing the CD's release date with an exclusive bonus card (numbered as a Promo card). The promo card twin titled P1 ROCK'em O-Sock'em was back-numbered and clashed with the ANS7 promo card P1 Dough BOYD. These bonus care are non die-cut and not stickers, with no 'PEEL HERE' arrows and printed on regular card stock. Together with the Osaka Popstar Wacky Packages Bonus sticker makes for a nice little crossover collection.

The second set to have a series Checklist titled and outlined with the color blue, as with the ANS6 set. The base set checklist has three-rows rather than the nostaglic two-rows because of the additional titles of the Mega set; this is also the second set to have an insert checklist containing the GPK banner. Both, the regular checklist and the insert checklist have the name listed in bold for this release. Activity card #8 Booger KEN is misspelled as Booker KEN on the insert checklist and card #9 Snakes in Dwayne, with plural reptiles, is listed in the singular 'Snake in Dwayne' for the checklist.

The Osaka Poptar Live EP promotional Poster measuring 11 x 17 inches and featuring the 'Rock'em O-SOCK'EM' character could be purchased off of the Osaka Popstar website starting in August of 2008.

The character Nomenclature for card 9a Deodor BRENT was named after artist Brent Engstrom, the painter of the final artwork, by Jeff Zapata, which was suggested on Engstrom's pencil rough artwork. The Speed Stick product parody was given the Wacky Packages-like name 'Speed Lick'. Engstrom also gave a nod to Wacky Packages for cards 30a Foamy PHIL and 30b Shave DAVE, a self caricature portrait of the artist, by giving the Barbasol shaving cream can a parody name of 'Barfasol'. In early 2010, Engstrom also had a Speed Stick parody with the same 'Speed Lick' name published as a Wacky Packages bonus card that was released with the Series 5 Postcards set.

The ANS6 Wacky Packages set contains the 'Garbage Pail Geezers' title; a parody of the Topps Garbage Pail Kids product that was first found as a card front for the ANS5 WP set by artist Dave Gross and now on a reverse card back for card #25 Trashformers in which artist Neil Camera designed the coupon back and additional artwork. The image of character ADAM Bomb in skeleton form with the namplate containing the name 'Expired KYLE' can also be seen. Additional information on the ANS5 WP set card #28 Garbage Pail Geezers can be found within the ANS6 GPK 'Fun Facts and Tidbits' section.

The set contains five pieces of artwork that contain the GPK Mascot character images OS1 ADAM Bomb and Blasted BILLY; cards 3a Offense SPENCE and 3b Rebound ROY contains the outlined image on the basketball (a parody of the NBA emblem), cards 36a Car JACK and 36b Scrap HEATH have the name grafittied on the wall, cards 44a Breakin' BRANDON and 44b BUSTER Move that contains the card single—along with the other 80's nostalgic interests such as He-Man, Optimus Prime and the subject matter of breakdancing, cards 49a TYLER Tilt and 49b Pinball WILLARD contains rendered wrapper artwork and cards 50a DESIREE Disarray and 50b Yard SALLY contains the OS1 box image.

The previously Unpublished ANS6 artwork by artist Brent Engstrom was used for the ANS7 release, although altered for the set. Dark sunglasses were added to the final artwork for the rapper character on cards 51a BILLY Bling and 51b GIL Grill as well as the pinky finger digits extended straight instead of bent changed by Topps; making the appearance of the 'gang sign' hands going from a throwing an F-word gesture to a 'I like you' gesticulation.

Although the All-New Series GPK (and Original Series GPK after OS9) tend to have only Four Fingers and four toes, cards 20a PARKER Puker and 20b Web Head NED have four fingers and five toes. This phenomenon can also be found in the ANS1 set with cards 9a Cheesy CHARLIE and 9b Pizza Face Chase (and unpublished nomenclature for OS 16th cards 639a GUY Pie and 639b Pepperoni TONI) who has five fingers on account it was an unpublished OS2 concept that replaced the pulled OS16 image.

There are two new, very cool Puzzle Border colors added for the ANS7 GPK set for the puzzle preview cards and puzzle pieces; a light blue border and a light pink border that are reminiscent of the old light blue and light pink nameplates.

The set contains several Same Names from previous GPK sets; ANS7 card 8b Ol' Faith PHIL and ANS2 card S1b Ol' Faith PHIL, ANS7 card 11a Stormy HEATHER and OS1 card 7a Stormy HEATHER, ANS7 card 45a MANUEL Labor and OS6 card 230a MANUEL Labor, ANS7 card 46a Flamin' DAMON and OS10 card 363b Flamin' DAMON, ANS7 card 47a On The MARK and OS7 card 255a On The MARK, ANS7 card 51b GIL Grill and OS5 190b GIL Grill and ANS7 card 54a MOLLY Pop and ANS5 card 34b MOLLY Pop.

The hard-to-find B2 Bonus Card erroneously not always found within the Target Bonus box was offered through Topps for a limited time throughout June and July 2008 by filling out a Redemption form found on the company website and mailed into the Topps company. A collector writing into Topps at the time received a blanket reponse letter which prompted Topps to create the redemption form page on their website. This second print run card varies with the original first print run card by having a noticeably darker print of color. Respectively, the second and frist print run card backs are pictured below, the darker printing backside does not match the other Bonus cards, B1 or B3 through B6.

CLICK IMAGE TO VIEW B2 REDEMPTION FORM & BLANK STATEMENT

The GPK set contains the second see-through GPK Header, but only the bottom portion, for cards 7a DREW Drool and 7b Flood TED; this was not intentional by the artist but completed at Topps during the final prep stages.

The Wanted Posters theme is used once again for the reverse artwork for the GPK card backs, along with new Identification (ID) Cards; both are highly nostalgic of the original series GPK sets. The ID back of card 19a contains the name 'Skull & Cones' which is a parody reference to the alleged Cross & Bones secret society of President Bush. Pictured below are the 'WANTED' poster for card 42a Wanted for Motor Oil Theft: Tusky TIFFANY and the ID back for card 54b Anti-Social Security: ADAM Bomb. Artist Neil Camera completed the artwork backs based off of concepts by Jay Lynch; Camera was kind enough to sign a card.

The Bonus stickers for cards B2 CARL Wreck and B5 Tongue Tied TARA have no PEEL HERE arrows on the card front. The Promo cards never contain 'PEEL HERE' arrows since they are card stock only and not stickers.

A GPK tribute vinyl sticker parody card was created by graphic artist Adam White to advertise for his clothing label, Craze One Clothing. The screenprinted image was created exclusively for Craze One Clothing by GPK artist John Pound. A small article could be found within the Non-Sport Update publication at the time in August of 2008 which contained a mock-up image of the upcoming single. The name 'ADAM White' was changed to 'ADAM B. Good' and the card number '1a' in white was changed to the color black for the release. The vinyl sticker was limited to 1000 sequentially hand-numbered card.

The Reverse Artwork back of card 14b 'GPK Elementary School Hall Monitor' has the OS9 card character name 355a Beasty BOYD misspelled as 'Beastly BOYD'. Also, the ID card back for 19a 'Skull & Cones' has the secret number listed as 'I844 - I1' which phonetically equals 'I eight/ate 44 - I won'; equals the number of cones eaten: 44.

Up to 10 years later, during 2017, the osakapopstarofficialmerch.com website still had various GPK and Wacky Packages Osaka Popstar products available for purchase with the John Pound imagery sans the Topps brand names; "Features original Osaka Popstar GPK artwork by Garbage Pail Kids creator John Pound, as seen in Garbage Pail Kids All-New Series 7!", including, T-shirts for $19.99" This is an officially licensed Osaka Popstar T-shirt. The Rock'Em O-Sock'Em design is printed on a black, standard fitting men's tee." and "The Popcan design is printed on a white, standard fitting men's tee.", stickers for $1.99" This is an officially licensed Osaka Popstar Rock'Em O-Sock'em 3.25"x5" kiss-cut sticker. Peels away from background!"; WP Popcan sticker not kiss-cut, a GPK button for $.99" This is an officially licensed Osaka Popstar 1.25" Osaka Popstar Rock'Em O-Sock'em button.", a GPK patch for $4.99" This is an officially licensed Osaka Popstar Rock'Em O-Sock'em dye sublimated patch with embroidered detailing and an embroidered border." and a GPK magnet for $2.99" This is an officially licensed Osaka Popstar Magnet. The Rock'em O-Sock'em 2.5"x3" magnet sticks to refrigerators, lockers and most metal surfaces."

The company name Topps can be found on three cards within the ANS7 GPK set; located on the deodorant container of cards 9a Deodor BRENT and 9b Roll On ROB, on the banner of cards 36a Car JACK and 36b Scrap HEATH and on the pinball flappers of cards 49a TYLER Tilt and 49b Pinball WILLARD.

ANNOTATED NAMES
Explanatory Notations and Definitions of the GPK Nomenclature

The Naming Panel for the ANS7 set consisted of Jeff Zapata, Dave Gross and Brent Engstrom. Pictured below is the B1 Leaky LESLIE bonus card rendered tight sketch by art director Jeff Zapata based off of the original concept by Mark Pingitore, showcasing the potential other twin name for the character. This image was given to newcomer GPK artist Fred Harper to execute for the set.

*

Veteran GPK artist John Pound contributed fifteen final artwork pieces for the ANS7 set including several of his own concepts. Pound's preliminary artwork at the tight pencil stage tends to stay consistent through to the final artwork with little revisions since preliminary thumbnail drawings have not been available to the public. The pencil and color rough examples are for cards 32a Abandoned ANDY and 32b Cast Away JAY.

*

Veteran GPK artist Tom Bunk contributed three final artwork pieces for the ANS7 set including a leftover ANS6 unpublished concept for bonus card B3 that was created in October of 2006. Pictured below are the color rough variations created by Bunk before starting on the final artwork. All three pieces were planned to be bonus cards but the first two were placed within the set instead; the B1 bonus card by Fred Harper was intended to be card number 24 and the B2 bonus card by Luis Diaz was intended to be card number 33 within the set but removed.

Cards 24a Killer WALLY and 24b Chum CHARLIE. NOTE: the whale looks less like a dolphin, a tongue is added and 'SeaWorld' kept on the character's hat for the final artwork.

Cards 33a Wash JOSH and 33b HANS Soap. NOTE: 'Natural' and 'Pest Control' added to the soap dispenser, the human hand lowered and 'Tom's' added to the toothpaste tube for the final artwork.

Card B3 Lock Mess REX. NOTE: 'Loch Ness' monster added, skunk and rabbit replaced with a dog and
mouthpiece added to the character's gob cavity for the final artwork.

Next-gen GPK artist Brent Engstrom contributed a staggering number of twenty-five paintings for the ANS7 set; nineteen from his own concepts and six from various other's concepts. Engstrom previously completed two published final artwork pieces for ANS5 and six final artwork pieces for ANS6. This was a pinnacle release for the artist, taking the forefront of having the most paintings published for the set, having promotional and packaging explosure for both box and wrapper, characters chosen for card back puzzles and opening the set with the #1 card spot. Among other roughs below are the original artwork for the unpublished ANS6 piece for card number 51 and the painting for bonus card B6 GEORGE Clowny which was painted for the ANS5 set but unpublished; it was based off of a 2005 concept piece by Mark Pingitore (pictured further below) and touched-up for the ANS7 release.

Cards 1a TY Dee Knot and 1b Ty DEE Knot (left). NOTE: male and femail positions flip-flopped and hearts removed
for the final artwork; originally intended for the artist's personal wedding invitations and not for the set.

Cards 3a Offense SPENCE and 3b Rebound ROY (right) NOTE: trees replaced player to establish height comparison, eyes re-positioned and basketball emblem changed to ADAM Bomb; per Engstrom, the neck was made to look like an inner tube hole.

Cards 7a DREW Drool and 7b Flood TED (left) NOTE: swimming animal removed, floater in doorway added,
symbolic skull and crossbones added to T-shirt, chalkboard in background added and water level appears over the GPK banner for the final artwork; suggested nomeclature reversed.

Cards 9a Deodor BRENT and 9b Roll On ROB (right). NOTE: character changed to a deodorant applicator, product became a 'Speed Stick' parody and armpit hair reduced for the final artwork; per Engstrom, the original parody product name was 'Spit Stick'.

Cards 20a PETER Puker and 20b Web Head NED (left). NOTE: alley scene added, 'Daily Puker' newspaper added with Spider Man 3 review and Doc OC added to background; per Engstrom, the portrait of twin brother located on newspaper.
Cards 51a BILLY Bling and 51b GIL Grill (right). NOTE: necklace changed around for the final artwork, glasses added over the character's eyes and pinky fingers extended, extra bling added to the teeth (piercings, diamonds, etc.) for the final artwork.

*

The character image for cards 44a Breakin' BRANDON and 44b BUSTER Move, which contains other 80's nostalgic interests such as He-Man, Optimus Prime and breakdancing, was originally the promotional material for the 2007 Kickin' It Old Skool film; a postcard was distributed out at the screening. The movie stars Jamie Kennedy in which the parody name 'Maime KENNEDY' stems from for the promo image; the artwork was later worked into the ANS7 release. The concept was created by artist David Gross (left) and the character painted by artist Brent Engstrom (right); the only thing Engstrom really changed from Gross' concept was replacing the 'NEW COKE' pop can with an OS1 ADAM Bomb card.

*

Next-gen GPK artist Luis Diaz completed four final artwork pieces for the ANS7 set all based off of concepts created by artist Mark Pingitore for cards 19a Ice COLE and 19b Stuck BUCK (pictured below), 22a DAVID Choppin' Squeal and 22b TODD Da! and 26a Waft WYATT and 26b Windy WENDEL including the bonus card B2 CARL Wreck (pictured below). This is a huge drop in the number of paintings for Diaz; the inability of meeting deadlines are rumored to have been an issue for Topps.

Cards 19a Ice COLE and 19b Stuck BUCK (left). NOTE: worker's hat, light fixture, kid holding lightbulb and background all added for the final artwork.
B2 CARL Wreck (right). NOTE: image changed to a horizontal position, perspective slightly changed and street sign added for the final artwork.

*

The newest next-gen GPK artist Fred Harper joined the Garbage Gang and completed four final artwork pieces for the ANS7 set based off of concepts by other GPK artists. Two paintings appear within the base set while the remaining two images can be found as B1 and B5 bonus cards. Unfortunately, we see only one additional painting by Harper in 2014, seven years later; I would've liked to have seen Harper used more to see what kind of work he would have created for the GPK brand. Per the art director, Jeff Zapata, the artwork may appear too realistic and detail is often lost when reduced down to trading card size.

Cards 37a Extra CHRISTIE and 37b Chick KEN. NOTE: painting in progress color rough, more oil added to tablecloth, steam and cripsy skin appearance added for the final artwork.

Cards 39a Sub MAUREEN and 39b Diver DON. NOTE: additional sea bed environment added, fish changed to a crab and ribcage covered by the nameplate for the final artwork.

Card B1 Leaky LESLIE. NOTE: polka-dots removed from shirt, bow size increased, eyeball changed location,
more water added to ground and wall extended to the right for the final artwork.

*

Next-gen GPK artist Layron DeJarnette completed four final artwork pieces for the ANS7 set; all images were completed digitally, no final artwork for these pieces exist. Topps only allowed digital artwork for a very short period for GPK; it went back to 100% paintings soon thereafter. DeJarnette's paintings are based off of concepts by Mark Pingitore for cards 23a Gator ABE and 23b We WINNIE and 28a Glass Blow JOE and 28b Gas-Blowin' OWEN, both pictured below, Fred Wheaton's concept for cards 36a Car JACK and 36b Scrap Heath, and David Gross' concept for cards 45a MANUEL Labor and 45b LANDON Scaping, pictured below.

*

The final artwork by Layron DeJarnette for cards 36a Car JACK and 36b Scrap Heath pays accolades to several creators behind GPK and a Tribute to several community websites as well. Art director, Jeff Zapata had DeJarnette add all of these names to the concept piece created by Fred Wheaton. The GPK logo covers some of the grafittied information, scrawled left to right, top to bottom: New Wave DAVE (OS1; card 30a), Wayne's GPK (Wayne's GPK reference guide site), Topps banner, GeePeeKay (Matt Oldwieler's GPK site), Jeff (for art director Jeff Zapata), John (for John Williams; supervising editor), Lay (unknown), Cool (unknown), GPK Underground (Cory Pierce's GPK fan forum site), Barren AARON (for this historical site), Layron (for DeJarnette), GPK World (for the old Topps garbagepailkidworld.com website), Ira (for Ira Friedman, VP of Topps and development for GPK), Wheaton (for Fred Wheaton, the concept artist), Renée (Fred Wheaton's wife), ADAM Bomb (OS1; card 8a).

*

Next-gen GPK artist Ray Lago completed two final artwork pieces for the ANS7 set for cards 16a Ceiling FRAN & 16b Head LES and 54a MOLLY Pop & 54b SOPHIE Sucker based off of two concepts by artist David Gross, pictured below.

*

Concept GPK artist Fred Wheaton was only able to contribute three approved concepts for the ANS7 GPK set due to his extremely busy schedule while completing concept pieces and final artwork images for both Hollywood Zombies and ANS6 Wacky Packages sets for Topps. Pictured below are the three ideas conceptualized by Wheaton and created in the months of August and September of 2007 that were eventually painted by other artists.

Cards 14a Coral CARSON and 14b CORA Reef (left). NOTE: reef shark replaced with a hammerhead shark, legs added, barnacle fingers added and crab changed to pinching finger for the final artwork; 'Barnacle BILLY' suggest nomenclature not used.
Cards 37a Extra CHRISTIE and 37b Chick KEN (right). NOTE: KFC bucket layout and mascot chnaged, 'GPK' acronym changed on the container and more steam added to the character; 'Kentucky Fried CLYDE' + 'Finger Lickin' GORD' suggested names not used.

Cards 36a Car JACK and 36b Scrap HEATH — Concept Sketch and Tight Pencil Artwork
NOTE: leg and arm bones sticking out of body removed and replaced with DeJarnette's signature doll-limb attachments,
lump on head and bruised body reduced for the final artwork; 'Stripped KIP' suggested nomenclature not used.

*

Next-gen GPK artist newcomer Richard Clark completed one final artwork piece for the ANS7 set for cards 15a Prime NATE and 15b Sim IAN based off of a Mark Pingitore concept, pictured below. Clark also worked on the Hollywood Zombies set for Topps and was tested for GPK.

*

Concept GPK artist Mark Pingitore contibuted eleven gruesome artwork pieces for the ANS7 set painted by several other artists. Ten of these concepts can be found within the base set while one is a unpublished ANS5 piece completed by Brent Engstrom that made it as a bonus card. Art director Jeff Zapata had Pingitore test out painting one of his concepts, pictured below, but the concept was later handed off to artist Brent Engstrom to execute. Pingitore went on to paint many GPK card images for future sets released by the Topps company.

Test painting for cards 48a DEL Icious and 48b Licked VIC (left). NOTE: the cookie top contains the letter 'G' for 'GPK' rather than the 'O' for the Oreo parody.
Cards 31a Lyin' RYAN and 31b Tall Tale TIM (right). NOTE: nose stabbed through head with brain matter instead of the chest cavity with heart and Giminy Cricket gag added to the final artwork.

Cards 33a Wash JOSH and 33b HANS Soap (left). NOTE: blood and guts replaced with snot and bugs and the perspective of the image changed for the final artwork.
Cards 38a Drum KIT and 38b Tom TOM (right). NOTE: drum sitting on the floor, kid straddlign drum and background 'Osaka' band members added to the final artwork.

Card B1 Leaky LESLIE (left). NOTE: fountain made more abstract, kid drowning and eye added to the water for the final artwork.
Card B6 GEORGE Clowny (right). NOTE: hat added to the clown, pie victim added to the backround and animals added to the foreground.

*

Veteran GPK artist Jay Lynch was commisioned by Topps to create the special insert cards; the Action Punch Outs (Activity cards) and the Lenticular Loco Motion (or Flix-Pix) cards. The Loco Motion cards were animated by Topps in-house artist Colin Walton. Lynch completed the final artwork himself for the aforementioned insert cards with assistance by Neil Camera working in Photoshop to color them. Jay Lynch also worked on all of the 'WANTED' posters and 'ID' card back concepts and Neil Camera completed all of the final artwork. Camera used colored markers to create the color for the backs; unfortunately, Topps did not use the colored artwork for all of the card backs. Pictured below are the WANTED poster final and rough artwork for card 42a WANTED for Motor Oil Theft: Tusky TIFFANY by Camera and Lynch, respetively.

*

Next-gen Wacky Packages artist Neil Camera worked on the insert and card-back artwork for the ANS7 set along with veteran artist Jay Lynch. Camera rendered the reverse card-back artwork in color markers but most of the card backs ended up being a monotone color instead. Camera also submitted a card front concept, pictured below, that was not accepted for the release which may have been completed in 2005 considering the 'GPK05' license plate on the vehicle.

*

Next-gen Wacky Packages and Garbage Pail Kids artist David Gross, who contributed to the last ANS5 and ANS6 sets with several concept pieces painted by other artists and himself, submitted thirteen new gory concepts with eleven being accepted for the ANS7 set and Gross having painted three of the artwork pieces himself; a sample of these concepts are pictured below.

Cards 24a Killer WALLY and 24b Chum CHARLIE (left). NOTE: character not in a wetsuit, torn off arm turned sideways, more space added and different water effect; painted by artist Tom Bunk.
Cards 34a WILLIE Of Fortune and 34b NICHOLAS Caged (right). NOTE: closer view of hamster wheel, rat-like rodent changed to a hamster and character centered for the final artwork; painted by Pound.

Cards 49a TYLER Tilt and 49b Pinball WILLARD. NOTE: character's face banged-up, 'ADAM Bomb' mascot added to the center of the table, GPK characters added to the bumpers and 'Topps' added to the flippers for the final artwork.

*

An uncut GPK Sticker Sheet as auctioned off of eBay through the Topps Vault in the Winter of 2008 right after the ANS7 release in December 2007 and January 2008. A front image of the base cards for the ANS7 GPK set. Also pictured is a sample of final artwork sold on eBay through the Topps Vault of Tom Bunk's artwork for card B3 Lock Mess Rex; artwork is sometimes purchased by Topps directly from the artist and sold.

*

Newcomer concept GPK artist Mark MacAulay had several concept submissions accepted for the ANS7 set by the Topps company. Of the nine concept pieces submitted by MacAulay, two were approved for the set in which both were slightly reworked and painted by legendary GPK artist John Pound. The unaccepted concepts are also pictured below.

Cards 29a Eye Scream LEE and 29b Scooped SHANNON (left). NOTE: crushed ice added around the ice cream tubs, 'Unknown' flavor changed to orange sherbet, customer's hand added.
Cards 40a Hollow HAL and 40b Goal NOEL (right). NOTE: kicking foot added, ball changed to a soccer ball, background trees, guts and chalk lines on field added for the final artwork.

Unaccepted Concepts: Android Girl, Obese Fast Food Mascot, Hand Sandwich and Story Book Monster, Popsicle Kid, Tumor Growth, and Choking Earphones (not pictured).

*

The official Topps Preliminary Checklist released with the press kits contain no GPK names, only TBD (to be determined); the following information was taken from the preliminary 'Card A' test sheet seen at the Philly card show convention in Allentown, PA during October 2007. Several preliminary card names were changed for the final release: 4a Knife SETH (knife set) became 4a Knifin' IVAN, 7a Deluge LOU (deluge = a great flood) became 7a DREW Drool, 12a Tangled TYLER or Mangled MANNY became 12a VINNY Son and 18a Rolled RAYMOND became 12a COOPER Pooper.

*

Besides the B6 GEORGE Clowny bonus card, the original intended Bonus Cards were 37a Extra CHRISTIE and 37b Chick KEN, 44a Breakin' BRANDON and 44b BUSTER Move, 48a DEL Icious and 48b Licked VIC, 51a BILLY Bling and 51b GIL Grill and 53a TRISH Washer and 53b REESE cycle. A majority of these were unpublished pieces from previous All-New Series sets or artwork tested by new card front artists.
