Normally, one could have only about 450,000 pts after completed the 1st loop. By running the Hi Score Strategy mentioned below, and in prefect, you should able to obtain score more than 700,000 pts within the 1st loop by 1 life, as I did so.

General Enemies

You'll getmore score than usual if using special technique in dealing with enemies. In most cases, destroy all of them. Besides, remember some of the enemies needs to be destroyed quickly while some (most) are not in order to obtain more score. Take attention at the following points:

In the first stage, destroy all golden dragons quickly. The more you destroy, the more they will appear. In prefect, this is possible to get 35,400 pts 36,300 pts 36,700 pts right after the metallic sphere section(before the screen roll is fixed), as I did so.

From 2nd stage and on, do not try to destroy the capsule releaser quickly. Wait until the come out of flying capsules which should be destroyed first in order to obtain more score.

Near the end of the Plant stage, do not destroy the seeds quickly. Wait until their explosion. 2-Way Missile will have advantage in this manner.

In the Magma stage, near the middle part, stay at the most left position to shoot down fire balls jump out from volcanoes. Try not to let any enemy escape out of the screen.

In the Moai stage, shoot down as many moai heads as you can. Do it quickly.

By the way, don't get blue powers in most / all time or enemies will be eliminated without score.

Bosses

A lot more score can be obtained from fighting bosses slowly, especially Moai Heads, Rolling Core*, Vanishing Core and Bloody Gate.

Approxmiate score of mine reference table:

Recall from "Ultimate Strategy": At the Bloody Gate, position Vic Viper in front of the capsule release structure to the top, with Options positioned below. All you have to do is just keep on shooting and wait. Count and remember the movement of ceilings, destroy the cores in the last second will be prefect.

*The Unknown Secret (deleted on 2000/10/27)

"Rolling Core Freeze" belongs to an important tactic in challenging the hi score. Unfortunately, this technique is out out my knowledge.

This is a game bug. If Vic Viper move in a specific pattern (which is unknown to me) in the 7th stage boss, the Rolling Core, it will stay freezed without any attack. Some professional Japanese players can(?) obtain a hugh number of score from this long period of time by keep shooting down Rolling Core's laser units continuously... . Actually I'm not very sure about the present of this tactic, as I didn't saw it or heard about it. But when you look at the Internet Ranking(especially weapon G4B in AC ranking), you'll see some players got an abnormal/crazy high amount of score which are seems impossible to do in normal play. Obtain score from Rolling Core Freeze is seem to be the most possible explanation, I think.

I did successed several times to make Rolling Core stayed freeze by luck. (escape to the right end while Rolling Core is searching for Vic Viper...) But in all the cases, Vic Viper is finally located to the most right position of the screen. When Vic Viper cross the shoot range of it's long laser mode core(i.e. move to the left), the boss move again. This is nothing useful. It is difficult just to make Rolling Core freeze. And it will be totally time consuming to investigate how to obtain score from it.

I proved today (2000/10/27) that obtain score from Rolling Core Freeze (by keep shoot down it's laser units continously) is impossible, at least this is not allowed in the PS2 version.

I successed to move to the left while Rolling Core is freezed(I did it just by luck). I keep shoot down it's laser units continously to obtain score. This is kinda amazing at the beginning, but...

After about 6-7 mintues, Rolling Core's laser units become non-destroyable. No further score can be obtained. After that, I want to test how long (I through it will go forever) this situation will stay. I put down the joyspad and then went to the kitchen to do the dishes. But after I come out(about 15-20 minutes later), what I saw is the demo screen.

The conclusion is that, Rolling Core Freeze will stay for only about 10 more minutes. And, the most important, it's laser units will not go reborn forever. By discoverd this, I think Rolling Core Freeze do not take an important part in Hi Score Strategy. (And I think this is no longer necessary to spent time to further investigate the pattern of how to make Rolling Core Freeze.)

Situation in AC is unknown.
