This is one of the best reel that I have ever own. I never had a single backlash for the past 5 years of using the 7HT. This reel was developed by Daiwa togather with casting expert Paul Kerry specially for UK. The 7HT is easy to tune, with its 5 point support system, the 7HT is built to last a lifetime if maintained properly. The one- piece Dura-aluminium spool of the 7HT is supported at both end on two odd size ball bearing. Casting is both smooth and quiet. The frame is CT type and made from one piece graphite, making it corrosion proof. The only negative views I have on this reel is the lack of a line out ratchet. During fishing, make sure you loosen the drag and keep a constant watch on your rod.

The 7HT is the reel to choose when fishing at our local beaches like Changi and East Coast. Spool the reel with 16Ib line, add a shock leader and you are ready to fish. I strongly recommend this reel to newcomers who are looking for a fuss- free reel. One thumbs' up.

This is a extremely good rough ground reel. The slosh reels are robustly designed. With its one piece CT graphite frame, firm thumb grip on spool is possible. The one piece frame also resist twist well. The speed of retrieve is high so your terminal tackle are lifted well above away from snags or rocks. But do take note when you are hooked to a big fish, excessive cranking with the high gear may results in lost fish. Casting speed is controlled by the proven centrifugal system, backlash are greatly reduced. Newcomers will not face difficulties in using if properly tuned to suit individual. The Slosh are excellent for fishing from the breakwaters of East Coast, Tanjong Rhu End and Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal. The smallest SL20SH is also a relatively efficient reel for long range fishing from the beach. The SL50SH when loaded with 30Ib line is a very suitable reel to fish at the Bedok Jetty. Owners do take note that the Slosh are best strap to rods with a FPS-type reel seat.

This the reel to use if you want to gear yourself up for the big fish of Bedok Jetty. The reel has a built in disc spool control system to fine tune your spool speed to help prevent spool over-run. The lever drag design is well designed and has a wide heat dissipating surface. Although the LD50H is considered a light boat reel, reatively long casting distance could still be obtained when coupled to a suitable rod such as the Penn Slamer ( see rods by Penn ). Load the reel with 30lb line and there will not be much fish around Bedok Jetty which the reel could not handle. Strictlly restrict the LD50H to jetty use.
