On this page are some fun and interesting things I'd like to share.  Some of them I have received in email, and others I've found while surfing the net.

I call this "The Pond." It was on a greeting card from my email buddy.

A Computer Cat to Entertain You

Felix the Cat will amuse you no end!  He walks across the bottom of the screen and on top of boxes/windows, plays with things, watches cat-tv, falls from the "sky", walks in and out of doors, peers out at you from behind the screen, and more.
Felix is an exe. that runs continuously until you right-click on him and exit. Download and save to Documents.  From Documents make a shortcut Icon on the Desktop (a paw print).  When you want to run Felix, just click on the Icon.

I love my waving desktop flag.  It sits in the lower right hand corner above the system tray.  If you don't have one already, go to www.deskflag.com for a download.

Music  "to surf by"

Here are some of my favorite tunes that you can download and listen to while surfing the net.  Save them in My Documents where they're easy to find.  You could even make a new file in My Documents called "My Music" and save them there.  Enjoy!

The Daily Comics

Several years ago our newspaper stopped carrying my favorite comic strip character - Cathy.   But I recently discovered that I can read her every day on "My Yahoo."   If you like Cathy, too, but it's not available,  try customizing that website page at http://my.yahoo.com .  Just click on Choose Content, make Comics one of your choices, and choose Cathy.

Helpful Hints
Occasionally I receive some good helpful hints in my email.  So I thought I'd share a few of those that are worth passing along.

Bounce Fabric Sheets
(many uses)

1.  Chases bees, mosquitoes and ants away Tie a sheet of Bounce through a belt loop or stick one in a pocket when outdoors. It will also chase ants away when you lay a sheet near them.
2.  Freshens and prevents musty odors - Place a sheet of Bounce inside old books or empty luggage.
3.  Freshens the air in your home or car - Place a sheet of Bounce in a drawer or hang in the closet. Place one under the front seat of your car, too.
4.  Eliminates odors in wastebaskets and dirty laundry - Place a sheet of Bounce at the bottom of the wastebasket and in your hamper or laundry bag.
5.  Deodorizes shoes or sneakers - Place a sheet of Bounce in your shoes overnight.
6.  Eliminates static electricity from blinds and the TV screen - Wipe your Venetian blinds with a sheet of Bounce to prevent dust from resettling. Wipe the TV screen with a used sheet to repel further dust.
7.  Prevents thread from tangling - Run a threaded needle through a sheet of Bounce before beginning to sew.
8. Collects pet hairs and sawdust - Rubbing the area with a sheet of Bounce will magnetically attract loose hairs, sawdust, etc.
9.  Dissolves soap scum from shower doors - Clean them with a sheet of Bounce.
10.  Cleans baked-on foods from a cooking pan - Put a sheet in a pan, fill with water, let sit overnight, and sponge clean.  The antistatic agent apparently weakens the bond between the food and the pan.

Bread Ties

When you go to buy bread at the grocery store have you ever wondered which bread is the freshest?  Here's how you can tell without squeezing it.  Bread is delivered fresh five days a week - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.  Each day has a different color tie, and the colors go alphabetically.

                       Monday:  Blue
                       Tuesday:  Green
                       Thursday:  Red
                       Friday:  White
                      Saturday:  Yellow

Kill Mosquitos with "Joy"

Here is a good tip for those people who like to sit and enjoy the out of doors, but don't like those pesky mosquitoes. It was in a gardening magazine.

Put some water in a white dinner plate and add just a few drops of Lemon Fresh Joy dishwashing soap. Then put it on your patio. I don't know what attracts them, the lemon smell or the white color, but mosquitoes flock to it, drop dead, and fall into the water or on the floor within about 10 ft.  Works just super!

Emoticons (Smileys)

Emoticons have become extremely popular on the computer.  They are a sequence of ordinary characters you can find on your computer keyboard.  These smileys are used in email and other forms of computer communication.
