  1. Impart product knowledge
  2. Provide market and customer information
  3. Bring salesperson to meet existing customers for familiarisation purposes

Sales Manager should answer these questions before embarking on training programme

  • Who should be trained?
  • How should they be trained?
  • When should they be trained?
  • Where should they be trained?
  • Why should they be trained?
  • What should they be trained on?
  • Who should train them?

Should also:

  • analyse the needs of the trainnee
  • establish common training objectives
  • decide on relevant training components
  • obtain trainee’s feedback after training
