After 10 days back in Germany things are running normal again. But everyday life is a lot easier to endure when looking back to our wonderful vacation in your Fort Myers Beach home.

From the beginning we felt at home - my paradise home is the perfect place to spend a great time with your family. It's only a few steps to one of the most beautiful beaches I know and the house provides everything you need: a fully equipped kitchen, a lot of towels and even beach towels, a lot of space in and around the house, beach chairs, an umbrella and even a skim board - Kevin and Christopher, our 13 and 11 years old sons, were enthusiastic about that. They spent hours on this board and had a lot of fun!

We hope very much that sooner or later we can afford to come again since this vacation was one of the best we ever had! It was very hard for us to leave! Attached you find two photos which show how happy we have been...

Thank you for putting your house at our disposal and thank you for returning the security deposit so quickly.

We really liked Lover's Key State Park. Fort Myers Beach is also very close to the Everglades, so we spent a great day there. We went to Times Square, walked out on the pier, etc. But we preferred the more quiet parts of Fort Myers Beach: the beach right across from your house was not crowded at all and the pier on the bay at the end of Hercules Street was nice to sit on. We didn't see any manatees, unfortunately. We watched the sunset several evenings from the beach across from your house. We also explored the surrounding area: Sannibel Island, Marco Island, and Naples. All were beautiful. Sannibel and Marco were great for shelling.

We cooked at your house four nights. Two of those night we cooked fresh shrimp from Trico's, which is right across the bridge. If future guests like seafood, we highly recommend picking it up from Trico's. They were literally unloading tons of fresh shrimp from a boat when we were there! There is also another seafood wholesaler nearby Trico's, which we stopped in, but we had already bought ours at Trico's. One night we ate at Bahama Breeze, a chain we knew from the Chicago area. We ate at a place called Joanie's in the Everglades -- the only restaurant we saw. It was very good regional food: fried green tomatoes, crab cake sandwiches, gator meat, etc.

By the way, the little lizards that live in the area are so cute!

We had a wonderful time and hope to go back someday. We'll definitely contact you about My Paradise Home again someday.

Just a quick email to say how much we enjoyed our time at your house in Fort Myers Beach. We had a fabulous time there, managed to visit Key West and the Everglades during our stay as well as the local delights of Sanibel, Captiva and Fort Myers itself.

We made good use of the bicycles, used them nearly every day it was brilliant to have them available. The house was perfectly situated for us, especially the ease with which we could walk to the beach.

Hello Dennis,

Being a fisherman, my tastes run towards anything and everything that has to do with the ocean. For those who share the same interest, Lovers Key State Park is a great place to fish from shore, or to canoe, kayak or just plain relax.

We ate several times at a restaurant called Rodes that serves the freshest seafood and best New England Chowder around the area. Believe it's on Bonita Beach Road.

If you're in the Sanibel/Captiva area, check out Mel Fisher's Teasure Exhibit, located at 2353 Periwinkle Way. It's like taking a National Geographic tour. You can even own a piece of history - from authentic Spanish Doubloons, Emerald Rings to a 6 inch iron Spike from the actual galleon (which I did purchase).

And if you are into museum quality seashells or fossilized shark's teeth, try The Sea Shell Company on Bonita Beach Road. They have seashells for a couple of dollars - or 6 inch Megaladon Shark's Teeth for $300.

And if you want to take a drive down to Naples, check out Tin City. Lots of stores to shop in (my wife loved it) and great places to have lunch. You can also take sunset cruises there.

I guess that about sums it up. The rest of the time we spent just relaxing in your home, watching the sun set.

Hope this info will help future travelers to Fort Myers.

We had a wonderful time at your lovely home in Fort Myers Beach - very neat, clean and cozy! Loved the leather furniture - nicely decorated and comfortable.

It was also centrally located so that we could easily go north to Sanibel or south to Naples.

The beach was most peaceful, either early in the morning or at sunset. Made friends with a little ibis bird, who was most interested in the bait we used for fishing!

And the best part was the lack of crowds - so we had the beach to ourselves.

Even had time to explore the 900 stall fleamarket in Fort Myers!

All in all, we had a relaxing and wonderful time.

We had a really great time. House was perfect; it had everything we needed and more!

The weather was really kind to us; rain seemed to be everywhere around but not at Fort Myers Beach.

We spent every day at the beach; the house is perfectly situated for a family for this. Straight out of the door, left 20 feet, over the pedestrian crossing and 20 feet later youre right on the beach fantastic!

Loved sitting on the beach watching the Pelicans and Ospreys catching their breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Went to Hooters (well you have to dont you?) for something to eat one night, rest of the time we spent at the house we felt so much at home.

As Jacqui said in the guest book Great house, Great Place, Great Holiday

We will definitely be back and have already recommended it to friends over here in Scotland.

We just got back to New Hampshire late yesterday. We all had a great time at Fort Myers Beach. Your home was just as nice as you had described it to us. It was very roomy and comfortable. The beds were unbelievably comfortable as I have a bad back. My back actually felt better after our stay at your home. I think it must be time to change our mattress to what you have. We found a couple of good restaurants. PAPA MONDO'S -great Italian food with good friendly service and CHLOE'S -In the Diamond Head Resort -great food and deserts with a view of the Gulf. We walked the beach and spent many hours on your deck. The breeze was always blowing and it felt great just relaxing. We also took bike rides for exploring the side streets and met other people. You have a wonderful home in a great location.

Dennis, we made it back!

We arrived on the island late Saturday, in the dark, and after picking up the key, it was very pleasant to get to the house and found the lights in the stairway to be on so we didn't have to stumble about in the dark.

We were pleasantly surprised to see that the house was so well maintained. We found everything to be spotless, and the house looks very nice being painted in all the pastel sea-shell colours. The refrigerator and freezer were very clean and empty, save for a package of baking soda. We got most use out of the beautiful kitchen and the super-large counter top. I've never heard a dishwasher that was so whisper-quiet. The brand-new washer/dryer were a true blessing and worked like a charm (I want a new pair for my own home now that I've used your beautiful, huge machines). We even used the coasters that one of your previous visitors made for you.

My husband Jerome asked me to thank you for providing the amazing, fluffy beach towels and the beach chairs which we used every day to go down to the beach. With the walkway right by the house, the beach couldn't have been closer, and each day, we carved out a little piece of real estate on the sand for us. One day, we collected sand dollars in the warm shallow water. Jerome and the kids golfed a few times at the nearby Bay Beach golf course on the island, and we certainly enjoyed the close proximity of the Publix for all last-minute incidentals (for which we used the bicycles).

One evening, we had my in-laws over for supper, and we sat in the back of the house to barbecue, and Jerome was very excited to see that it was the charcoal kind, his favourite.

Dennis, we're sure to come back. Thank you for caring so much; it shows!

Just thought I'd take a moment to let you know what an amazing time we had staying in your beautiful home in Fort Myers. (Actually, for one week it felt like our home!) When my husband and I thought about taking his mother along on a vacation with us, at first I was a little skeptical. But, I have to say, we had such a wonderful time together! I can't imagine our trip being as successful if we had stayed anywhere else. We all enjoyed quality family time together - eating meals, watching movies, playing games & just relaxing outside, while also enjoying the privacy of separate bedrooms and bathrooms! We had many outings on & off the island - together as well as apart, and since the beach is soooo close, it was great for any of us (when we wanted some personal time) to take a nice meditative stroll. One of our favorite vacation moments was the day we rented a small boat to explore different areas of the island and collect shells at Lover's Key. It was very relaxing, very private, and on our trip back to the docks we actually had 2 dolphins following behind us for a good 10 min! It was amazing - they were jumping out of the water and everything! (and to think we got it all on video)! Thanks again for sharing your home with us! Can't wait to go back! :)

Well, we're back in good ol' freezing cold Minnesota...it's 3 degrees right now with a -14 below wind chill...hard to come back to! I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed staying in your beach home last week, what a nice place! It was laid out so nice & was perfect for the four of us, plus having my other relatives stop over to visit. And the beach.....wonderful! I think one of my favorite parts of the whole week was taking the bikes out for long rides down Estero Blvd & meandering back into the neighborhood, looking at the beautiful flowers & plants, not to mention the homes! We rode down the beach too, but that was a bit tough on these old legs, so we didn't go too far!

We went on the boat excursion to Key West on Monday (a four hour boat ride each way, but what fun!), then we all drove to Captiva/Sanibel on Wed & went through the JN Ding Darling Sanctuary...saw a 10 ft alligator right across the walking path! We ate out at Fernando's (right by Publix) the first night there, & what a great meal that was! I ordered the special which was grouper, scallops, shrimp, asparagus & artichoke, in a wine/garlic/lemon sauce...mmmmmm. We also ate at the Italian Seafood place down in the 7000 block of Estero, & at Wahoo Willies up in Time Square. Wandered the shops & hung out at my cousins place up on the north end (right next to Best Western), but even though it was a bigger place, we liked your place better! My husband really enjoyed just walking the beach, so we did lots of that, and we were so lucky to have good weather. We almost went parasailing, but just didn't get down there in time (I'll do that next time!). All in all, a great week & I'm ready to go back again!

Received your note and check for security deposit this a.m. The beach home and amenities were just wonderful and I can understand why you are proud of your home. Fred and I spent a lot of time on the front deck and had several people stop and ask questions - also wrote email and address down for them as your sign is very faded and almost unreadable. While there, in the evening, I did some needlework and made 8 coasters and a holder for your coffee table in the living room. Hopefully it will help to keep it from being scratched etc. Also knitted 3 or 4 dishcloths for the kitchen and put them in the drawers. I mention this only because it brings me to the one thing I think needs to be corrected. The living room could use a little more light. I knit, do needle point and read a lot - my husband reads a lot also and does cross words. The light in the evening in the living room is only sufficient for one person to be doing something like that and so we had to take turns in the chair with the light above. Just a suggestion, but we older people do not do a lot of nightlife and enjoy those simple pleasures. I also think the laundry is great - no need to carry a ton of luggage which is a relief for the back as well as airport screening. Makes life easier. I had a wonderful time at your home on Fort Myers Beach. I couldnt believe how clean and roomy it was. The beds were so comfortable, I had the best sleep ever. The kitchen was so equipped, I didnt need anything.

I was a little leery at first to rent something on Estero Blvd. I was afraid it would be noisy. You told me, I would hardly hear anything. You were right. Especially where the bedrooms are located, in the rear of the house, you hear nothing.

It was nice being so close to the water. Your home is steps to the beach. I would have liked to rent something right on the beach, but the prices they want are so ridiculous compared to yours. To me your home is the next best thing to being on the beach at half the cost.

On other occasions, I have stayed on Fort Myers Beach in condos and hotels. This was by far the most relaxing, private, and enjoyable vacation yet. Renting a vacation home is the only way to go, as far as Im concerned. You'll definitely be hearing from me for next year.

We were delighted to discover that merely steps away, lay waiting, a breathe-taking stretch of beach that, though centrally located, was still privately situated. The glory of each colored sunset will remain with us always.

Being able to choose from among a long list of nightlife options, as well as an endless stream of daytime recreation, was so much more enjoyable knowing that a place very much like home, was not far away.

I must thank you for sharing your lovely little secret with us. Frankly, I cannot see how any other type of vacation can compare with this one. It was the most affordable and best time we ever had as a family. I hope to do business with you again in the near future.
