Friday June 17, 2005 Arizona Tribune Ex-officer gives up certification A former Mesa police officer arrested on accusations he sexually abused a woman while on duty voluntarily gave up his state police certification Wednesday during an Arizona Peace Officer and Standards Training Board hearing. Rigoberto Ramirez, arrested in May 2003, is now banned from working in the state as a police officer. Ramirez was arrested after two Mesa women told police that the officer had sex with one of them while forcing the other to watch.
