Original Article Cops' Soda Sipping Caught On Tape POSTED: 1:15 pm CDT August 17, 2005 UPDATED: 1:50 pm CDT August 17, 2005 RICHMOND, Calif. -- Police said it's a case of officers apparently taking free samples at a Mrs. Fields cookie store in Northern California. The Contra Costa Times reported a security video shows police pouring themselves cold drinks behind the counter of the closed cookie shop. Officers had been searching for a gunman at the Hilltop Mall in Richmond. A police spokesman declined to comment on the investigation. But a lawyer representing the officers said they weren't "out on a frolic." Attorney Mary Sansen said a couple of the officers were dehydrated to the point of desperation.
