(AP) -- The state Motor Vehicle Division has been cracking down on unregistered vehicles around the state but not in Yuma. Statewide, nearly $5 million of additional taxes and fees have been collected, but George Lamb, program manager for the MVD's registration compliance enforcement program, said compliance efforts are difficult to conduct in Yuma because of the transient population. Without a specific complaint, it's difficult to do enforcement given the number of winter visitors, seasonal workers, out-of-state students and Marines, he said.
