I suspect under Arizona law this guy act of self defense is illegal because he was not in fear of his life. And thats wrong. When a person robs steals your money you have the right to defend your self and shoot the robber like this guy did. Original Article Phoenix news briefs Apr. 8, 2006 12:00 AM Victim shoots, wounds suspect in robbery WEST PHOENIX - A crime victim sprung into action Friday after being robbed at a bank ATM machine by a bandit who pretended to have a weapon, police said. The victim retrieved a gun from his car and shot the fleeing robber, wounding him in the leg, police Sgt. Lauri Williams said. The incident took place outside a bank near 35th Avenue and Thomas Road. The suspect, whose name had not been released, was taken into custody at a nearby industrial area, Williams said. Police also were questioning a suspected getaway driver, she said. The victim, a 22-year-old man, had been robbed of his wallet and money, Williams said. For now, police don't expect to bring charges against him, Williams added.
