SCOTTSDALE - Police arrested another driver suspected of trying to ditch photo-enforcement speeding tickets.

Scottsdale police on Thursday released photos of the suspect, who was charged with two counts of criminal endangerment for covering his face with a jacket while driving his Mercedes to avoid being identified by cameras on Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard.

John Scatterday, 46, was photographed twice within three minutes on Jan. 18, according to Scottsdale police.

Scatterday is the third suspect Scottsdale police have arrested since the city's Loop 101 cameras started photographing drivers caught speeding on the freeway.

Scatterday was arrested and released earlier this week, pending charges.

On Jan. 18, he was photographed driving 79 mph east on Frank Lloyd Wright, a blonde woman next to him holding a jacket over his face to avoid the camera.

The second incident occurred three minutes later, at another set of cameras on Frank Lloyd Wright, though Scatterday was holding the jacket himself. He was then clocked at 70 mph.

The speed limit on Frank Lloyd Wright is 45 mph; drivers are clocked at 56 mph.

"He was charged with two counts of endangerment because he put his jacket over his face while driving while there were cars going by him," Scottsdale police Sgt. Mark Clark said.
