Checking for health concerns - you have been told - what - these little ones have NO health concerns!

All breeds come with their little and not-so-little concerns about certain health issues.  And this little breed is not left out.

By health concerns, I in no way mean the faults noted in the standard - those are mostly cosmetic and a poor tail-set does not jeopardize your pom's life in the same way liver problems would.

There are no perfect poms - we all must breed to improve what we have.  Some problems can be bred out - by not using inflicted specimens to breed.

Checks for eyes, hips, knees, are just a few of the available tests that can and must be done if we are to keep our breed in good health.

As Pondside Toys is a new kennel, we will be utilizing these checks in order to maintain the quality that is important to us as breeders.

The few litters we have bred at Pondside are a result of selective breedings, and future breedings will continue to be selected very carefully.  Quality puppies are our main concern - not quantity.
