NATURAL CHILDBIRTH WITHOUT DRUGS

Please read the comments under "Client Comments". This is not hypno-birthing. You will be fully awake to appreciate the delivery of your child. You will learn how you can control and manage discomfort during the process to allow for a drug free, more enjoyable experience.

AVOID C-SECTION

University studies (see references at the bottom of this page) have proven that hypnosis is tremendously effective for helping a fetus which is inverted or breach to turn to present normally. These studies demonstrate a success rate of 92%. This natural, enjoyable technique can provide additional benefits to both mother and child, which have been shown to continue even after delivery.

To learn the techniques for PAINLESS CHILDBIRTH, you will work exclusively and individually with Rose M. Conn. Rose is a master hypnotist certified through the NATIONAL GUILD OF HYPNOTISTS with additional specialized training in Emergency Hypnosis, Hypnosis Pain Control as well as Painless Childbirth and is a certified instructor in these subjects. Rose has received additional training and credentials through the Mottin Institute of Hypnotherapy and is a certified Hypno-Anaesthesia Therapist by the National Board for Hypnotherapy and Hypnotic Anaesthesiology (#1208981)

AVOID BREACH BIRTH & C-SECTION

Recent studies showed that when the mother received hypnosis, a baby presenting in the breach position was more than twice as likely to turn to present normally than would normally be expected. This virtually eliminated the need for a C-section.

Author, Researcher, Physician and Psychologist, Dr. Lewis Mehl-Medrona's research (available from The University of Vermont Department of Psychology, Department of Medicine (arch Fam. Med. 1984;3:881-887)) showed that with hypnosis for the mother of babies presenting in breech position at 37-40 weeks of gestation, nearly 90% turned to present for normal birth. The study employed only routine hypnotic techniques and no attempt was made to do normal psychotherapy.

Results of this study were highlighted in Prevention Magazine, "Healthy parenting - Late-Game Turnaround", March 1966, Pg. 42. They were also noted in Women's World, "Surprising New Way to Avoid C-Section" Sep 10, 1996, pg. 13.

PAINLESS CHILDBIRTH
(by Rose M. Conn, R.B.T., Ct.H.A.)
Certified Instructor - Pain Control

Yes, many can have painless childbirth without drugs. We have all felt pain to a greater or lesser degree. Pain is a form of sensation. You can learn to discern that contractions are merely sensations, they are no longer signals for pain. Pain is no more essential to labor than it is to pregnancy. The mind has the ability to alter the perception of pain.

This program also teaches proven stress management techniques. Reduced stress has been proven to reduce the risk of premature delivery, breach birth, C-Section and to help with the baby’s normal development prior to delivery.

Now, see for yourself how powerful the mind is. With this program you will learn how to:

ˇ Master the techniques of the body's own natural anesthesia
ˇ
Eliminate the Fear-Tension-Pain Syndrome
ˇ
Alter the perception of pain, at will, for the birthing process
ˇUnderstand and use relaxation and focus techniques

RISKS THAT CAN BE AVOIDED

If epidural anesthesia is given late in the first stages of labor, the effect may be so strong that you may be unable to "push", thereby forceps may be required.

Forceps risks range from temporary marks on the baby's cheeks or ears, to damage to the baby's nerves, or damage to the mother.

Postpartum hemorrhage caused by exhaustion of the muscles from a very long labor.

The baby being lethargic or depressed from drugs.

Postpartum depression can be minimized with our follow-up session after the delivery, thereby eliminating a prescription for an antidepressant drug.
YOU WILL NOT BE IN A HYPNOTIC STATE WHEN YOU DELIVER YOUR BABY, BUT WILL BE HIGHLY RELAXED, FOCUSED AND AWARE OF ALL THAT IS HAPPENING

YOUR STRESS & YOUR BABY'S HEALTH

Repeated studies demonstrate possible problems in pre-natal development which may arise from maternal stress.

Extensive research highlighted in the book Brain Sex by Dr. Anne Moir reports on research by East German scientist Dr. Gunter Doner supported by British psychologist, Dr. Glen Wilson, and American scientist Dr. Milton Diamond. Their research shows that maternal stress during pregnancy can have profound and detrimental effects on the development of the baby's brain and can impact many post birth functions.

All of this research concludes that when the mother experiences stress during development of her baby, it can have a significant affect on development of the baby. Because this book looks at physical development of the brain and it's connections (primarily the cortex, hypothalamus and interconnecting "wiring") related to resultant abilities, proclivities and characteristics which would not normally be expected, it does not address the many other physical developmental problems which may also be affected by stress.

The research does conclude that maternal stress may produce changes which affect everything from the baby's ability to perform well in mathematics to sexual preference. Moderate to severe pre-natal maternal stress can have a profound impact on the child's mental development.

POST PARTUM BENEFIT

As part of the Painless Childbirth program, you also receive a session after delivery to help with post partum depression, or weight gain.

Additionally, our clients have reported that after taking the child home, should the baby fuss, merely playing the music heard by the mother during pre-natal hypnosis sessions causes the baby to immediately become calm and relaxed.

BENEFITS OF THIS PROGRAM

In addition to learning how to more fully utilize the mind-body connection for pain control, this program provides proven methods to help manage and control stress. As a result many benefits are received.

Recent studies prove hypnosis can more than double the rate at which breach presentation babies “turn” to present normally (87%), thereby reducing the need for C-Section.

Formal studies show hypnosis stress reduction can reduce the probability of premature delivery by 79%.

The Pain-Fear-Syndrome is eliminated, as pain is partly governed by your expectations.

You can avoid the possibility of the newborn's breathing being affected by drugs.

Anxiety and misery are replaced with pleasant anticipation and feelings of pressure instead of PAIN.

The mother's blood pressure remains more stable.

The baby will be aware only of the your joy and love. Your reduced or absence of tension, fear and anxiety may also enhance the experience for your baby.

The techniques that you learn exceed all "natural methods" previously accessible, and compliment Lamaze.

Nature has given us our own anesthesia. You can discover and achieve this ability. Painless childbirth is a fact!

When in labor, what's on your mind? The next contraction! A contraction is merely a sensation, it is no longer a signal for pain. The anticipation of pain is a conditioned emotion that leads to fear. Repeatedly we've heard others tell of the PAIN during labor. Now, you can simply dismiss this and await your baby's birth with pleasant anticipation.

Another benefit was unexpected. Our clients report that, after birth, the baby continues to be “triggered” to instantly relax by the same music they experienced during the mother’s hypnosis sessions.
