Here's an essay that I wrote in the summer of 2002 when I was very bored during a meeting. It was a meeting that took about 5 hours out of the day and I was video taping it to make a training video so I knew that I'd be watching it over and over again. So I decided to write this essay.
A few things about the essay:
1)It's a PDF, but it's much smaller of a file than the research paper that I posted yesterday. It's only 35kb so it shouldn't take more than a few seconds to download.
2) I wrote this nearly two years ago when I knew a lot fewer of my ECE peers here at school so I wrote some pretty scalding stuff about engineers. I didn't want to edit it out because that is how I felt at the time. Also, those around me at the internship acted like the engineers I wrote about. However, I'd like to make it clear that I don't feel that my portrayal extends to MOST engineers as I'd written before. I'd now change it to "a good number of" or "a lot of" but not "most". But whatever.
So, enjoy the prose of a bored engineering intern, "Surviving the Battlefield at Work"
Once again, You need at least PDF 4.0. Please ask me for permission before posting the essay somewhere else and please don't take my name off and pass it off as your own.
