    | - Design Notes -
The design specifications have remained fairly consistent over the years
of production. The exceptions are the Engines and Port lights.   An 18 hp
Volvo 2002 Diesel replaced the Universal Model 15 during the later years of
 production in Canada.
Ticon Yachts also deviated from the Chrysler / Herreshoff design by
offering the more traditional Atkins & Hoyle opening ports as a replacement
option for the fixed Plexiglas windows.   Ticon also used the black cast
aluminum Atkins and Hoyle deck hatches on many of their production boats.
They also offered the same opening port as an option in the quarter birth
facing the cockpit well.   The Atkins and Hoyle ports were in use until
the late 1985 models when less expensive hatchs and ports were used.   The
ports continued to be available as an option.  Ticon offered a black cast
aluminum slotted toe rail on a limited number of boats.  A bow- sprit was
also offered as rarely seen option.   At some point early in production,
an interior design change moved the icebox from adjacent to the cockpit ladder
to a duel icebox arrangement on either side of the galley stove.  Ticon
often left stoves and refrigeration as a dealer installed option.   Hence,
you will find a wide variety of galey arrangements. Gimbaled alcohol, CNG, and
propane have all been reported as used on the T-30.  An optional
refrigeration unit (especially designed for the duel icebox) was also available
from an unknown source in Canada.
Unlike Chrysler and TCI, Ticon Yachts was very accommodating
regarding "special order" interior and cosmetic designs.  They would produce
a T-30 in any hull and deck color combination that was requested.  The interior
of some boats may contain additional special order custom features, such as teak
framed deck hatch screens and a V-birth in place of the overlapping single births.
The original Chrysler CY-30s were only available in two colors; a blue hull
and cream deck or a white hull & white deck.  Both had gold cove striping.
Many of the equipment "options" on the Chrysler CY-30 were included as
"standard equipment" on the Ticon T-30 Model.
Example photos of the T-30 interior and exterior variations can be seen
in the "Ticon Photo Album" pages.
The album also contains high-resolution
 pictures of the various brochures.
