Probably my most ambiguous poem - interpret it how you want.
The Lie of the Land
Tell me the story of a distant land
Far beyond the stars
Its shores awash with a radiant glow
Its visage the picture of calm
Tell me about its boundless beauty
Deep as the ocean
From the dew that glistens on a rose
To the spectral aura of a sunrise
Tell me what it's like to be happy
Peaceful and content
There is no pain or suffering here
No dashed hopes or shattered dreams
Tell me what everyone longs to hear
Deep down in their hearts
Somewhere there exists a better world
Its virtue shines within us all
Tell me if I'll ever see this place
I already know
