WAMServ is a project I am currently working on. It will allow people in #WAM_Mud to download a whole bunch of stuff from my computer via IRC. In order to use WAMServ, you must use an IRC client that supports DCC, like mIRC.  The WAMServ is currently running whenever I am online, but unfortunately, my ISP disconnects me after 6 hours, so it is not always available. #WAM_Mud is not a new channel.  It had been around for a while, but was very very sparsely populated.  I'm hoping to attract at least some interest to this channel.

If you enter the channel and find it empty, please feel free to hang around until someone else joins in.  If you don't want to sit there and stare at an empty screen, get mIRC, right-click the title bar of the #WAM_Mud window, and choose flashing.  This way, you can surf or do something else, and mIRC's icon will flash when someone enters the channel.

Channel Rules

I have recently been receiving complaints about my criteria for kicking/bannind people from the channel. Allow me to clear this up:

I will not allow people to disturb others in the channel who are trying to have a conversation, nor do I ban people without sufficient reason and without a majority conensus from the other members of the channel. As well, I always give at least one warning.

I have already had to call in an IRCOp (AKA the IRC police) to deal with someone, and I do not wish it to happen again.  I have not made it mandatory for users to read this page the first time they enter the channel unless I have reason to.

#1, This channel is not designed specifically for adults. People of all ages are welcome here, provided they can show a certain amount of maturity.  Please keep this in mind while you are in the channel.

#2, Please announce your presence nicely. Generally, saying "Hello" upon joining is the preferred method of announcing your presence, rather than "Are there any females in here?" or "Does anyone have any pictures?"

#3, Advertise somewhere else. I think this is pretty self-explanitory.

#4, This channel is basically for Muddy WAMmers; however, wetlook, messy, etc etc fans are just as welcome.

#5, Any forms of harassment, no matter how obscure will result in a Ban from the channel at the discression of the operators.

#6, If you want to be opped, remember this: The easiest way to get ops is to be of some use.

#7, No exessive cursing, swearing, complaining, flooding, or whatever else you want to call it.

#8, Guest nicknames (such as Guest3478) are not allowed on the channel. You end up with a guest name when the nickname you have chosen is owned by someone else. Simply type /nick <newnickhere> to change it.

#9, Don't flood WAMServ or the channel. I have received permission from DALNet to set up a bot on the channel that will prevent this from happening.

#10 Please don't enter, then immediately leave the channel.  This is very annoying to many people, and interrupts any conversations that are going on. If you just want to know who is in the channel type /names #WAM_Mud.

Also, please observe the general rules of DALNet.
