Leanne Rabesa, now 22 years old, has been studying the viola for 7 years. After receiving her BM in May 2000 from the Eastman School of Music, she remains at Eastman as a first-year masters student, studying with (and TAing for) George Taylor. Summer festivals she has attended include Soundfest Chamber Music Festival and Institute of String Quartets, the Portland String Quartet Workshop at Colby, Meadowmount, the Lydian String Quartet Chamber Music Festival, and Music in the Mountains (Whistler, BC).

The cat and the fiddle
She tends to spend far too much time online (at least, when she's not reading), as evidenced by this site (for which she is Webmaster) and FibroMusicians, a Delphi forum for musicians (like herself) with Fibromyalgia and other chronic pain diseases. And keep your nose pointed toward the kitchen - she's been known to turn out some highly interesting vegetarian dishes when the mood strikes, which is often.
But don't be surprised if the cats start begging for table scraps, since Kiffie and Rullie are spoiled rotten, but great fun to watch during rehearsals. Rullie has been known to accompany her to gamelan rehearsals as well - Leanne has been a member for 3 years and counting. She also loves to write and has had 3 articles published in Strings Magazine, in the May/June 1998, Feb./March 2000, and May/June 2000 issues. She plays a 1957 Paul Roth viola (16 3/4") and is currently bow-hunting.
