About 170 alumni and guests gathered on July 19, 2003 at the Crowne Plaza,
Pleasanton, California. We dined on salmon and prime rib, drank, danced, laughed and shared stories of the old
days. We posed for pictures and gazed at the vast array of old pictures and memorabilia displayed in
the fountain plaza of the hotel. Alumni took home a beautiful coffee mug emblazoned with the logo designed for us by
Don Blakely. On Sunday, people gathered at Cull Canyon for a family picnic.
DOOR PRIZE
Clarence Stuart was the lucky winner of the door prize drawing, a room night and breakfast, donated by the
Crowne Plaza Pleasanton. Clarence flew in from Texas, so he'll probably be able to make good use of that prize. Congratulations,
Clarence!
AWARDS
Farthest Traveled: We had two winners of this traditional award, Sherry Hunter Andrade, who came all the way
from Brazil, and Alfredo Salvato (our exchange student from our senior year) who came from Argentina. Each got a lovely
bottle of Lancers wine.
Longest married: Lesley Smith Pitts (married to Steve Pitts, THS Class of '72) 29 years. A lovely bottle of Lancers went
to Lesley. Salud!
Special Awards
Joel Sabenorio and Cindy Johnson were voted cutest couple in 1973. Thirty years later, they are married, still together,
and still cute! Just for that, they were given a lovely bottle of Lancers.
Inspirational Teacher- Mike Pinto was given a special gift by Jesse Dominguez for being a major influence on his
and other student's lives.
Reunion Committee leader Terrie McVicker Rowe (that's me!) was surprised by the reunion team with a tiara (plastic),
scepter (tin foil), roses (real!) and a framed document officially naming me Reunion Goddess. The text reads: Terrie
McVicker Rowe is hereby presented with this prestigious honor of Reunion Goddess. You have dedicated the last year of your
life to the Tennyson High School Class of 1973 30 Year Reunion and we salute you. You have spent countless hours stalking
lost classmates, acting as both dictator and mediator at our many meetings and nagging us to make "one more phone call". It
is because of you that this reunion is a success. We thank you! Wasn't that nice? I was surprised and embarassed,
and of course wore my tiara the rest of the night. (I'm a Goddess now, but you don't have to kneel or anything)
