03/24/2002 - "What"?, you say. Who is WX5E?
It's still me, formerly KK5WJ; I finally decided to obtain an Extra class call
sign. This page has been revised and updated
(and you never thought it would happend, did you?)-Checked up on the links. Yep, about half don't work,
so I deleted them. |
Make your site stand out! - How
many times have you been to an amateur radio page and found it to be nothing
more than a couple of links and little, if nothing, else? Make some graphics,
form a theme, talk about yourself, do something, please. Example Page
WX5E's Bio-
A short history about me and how I became a radio amateur. Hola, buenos dias y
muchos nachos.
WX5E's
Bugs and Spiders - If you live in or around Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma,
Utah, Mississippi, Georgia, South Carolina, Arizona, and Tennessee, then you
may have encountered the Brown Recluse Spider (Loxosceles reclusa), or
may even have been bitten.
Pictures -(coming soon. the shack, the ant's, the Silence
of the Hams)
KC7LSP's
Home Page -
Check this out; this place has some great ham radio info, but even better, you
can play Asteroids and Tailgunner online! Remember dropping about $50 in
quarters into one of those Atari machines and blowing up rocks? Now you can
play to your hearts content and put that $50 away to buy some new gear.
Tom's Ham Page-K8CX-Everything related to hams and
to the hobby of amateur radio.
W5FC-The Dallas Amateur Radio Club-The
DARC 146.880 Repeater homepage. Killer field day, got my pic in the
paper...and no, it wasn't in the police byline.
K5QHD-The Garland TX, Amateur Radio Club-Repeater
club for my hometown; to date I am remiss on my fees, but that's the case with
just about everyone I owe money to these days.
K1DWU.net - Huge
site, over 4500 links to web sites as well as to those looking to buy/sell
used equipment, antennas, build homebrew equipment, the latest in Ham/ARRL
news, soup up their radios with DYI mods, and much, much more.
KC5MLC Home Page - Gary Hollowell's amateur radio site. There is plenty of content inside including numerous links to a variety of original content.
Take online
practice exams-and even get a grade!-Practice for those
upcoming exams and throw yer keyer out the window prospective extras. Now you
need only a couple of Radio Shack books and minimal motivation to achieve the
top license in amateur radio. Call me sour, but it took months to learn code at
20+ wpm.
QRZ.COM - Callbooks are
an easy way to track down that Ham that you just heard on 40 M CW, but
copied the wrong QTH, or, for you new Hams, a way to find out the day that
you get your license so that you can hop on 144 Mhz and start using your 2
meter privileges. QRZ is a call book primarily, but much more lies beneath
the surface. I found the link to Vanity HQ through QRZ, and VHQ has been an indispensable
service to me in tracking my FCC application through the maze that is the
ULS. Though there are other callbooks available, QRZ has been #1 on my list
since the day I got my license in Nov, 1995.
Links to SKYWARN and other amateur radio wx related sites. Despite what others may say, I feel that the data provided by spotters helps save hundreds of lives each year. I've seen them in action and have been in the field with them, these are their pages. |
This Amateur Radio Webring site is owned by WX5E's amateur radio page....Dallas Hams. Want to join the Amateur Radio Webring? |
