21 This month! Wow, it seems only 3 months ago that Josh was 18!!! (Months that is!)
Every day we are amazed by what Josh has learnt, or the things that he can understand. Even just a
couple of hours ago when we were getting him ready for bed, Josh has the job of taking out his nappies to put them in the
bin outside. I was holding Josh and he was holding the bag of nappies. The bag was so full that it was very heavy
and he kept dropping it. I told him to hold it with two hands... and he did! Just little things like that truly
amaze me! (It was also very cute when he said good night to the moon!)
Josh is such a friendly little boy. Last weekend we took a train ride into the city. Every time
the train stopped at a station and people got off the train he said "see ya" to them. He says "see ya" to the cats each
morning when we let them outside, and he has lots of kisses for friends and family when its time to go home.
He still has his love of trucks, cars and trains. He has been able to see a lot of trucks around the
corner from our house where they are working on the train tracks. He has even gotten the hang of planes. The other
day there was a plane in the air above our house and he heard it and looked up and said 'tee' which his word for both
plane and train (they do sound similar!).
Josh has got a new favourite movie now - Pinocchio. There is one bit in the movie - when Jiminy Cricket
nearly gets squashed by the billiar ball - that Josh always cracks up laughing at. He will sit on his couch with a big
smile on his face for the whole movie. Toy Story 2 is also another favourite.
There are a few new words for this month... cow, keys, towel, where, quick. My favourite of these
is Quick! He usually says it after I have tried to hurry him up. There are a few other words that he has said
after repeating us, but I haven't heard him say them again. They are: chair, cookie, sauce and mess. (Mess was
said after he was finger painting with yogurt all over the table!!!)
This month was also the start of Josh saying Mum properly on a regular basis! But funnily enough he
has stopped saying Dad now. He can say nose really clearly now. And he can sing the circus song ("do do do").
He gets a bit confused by the word 'up'. If he wants you to pick him up, he says 'up'. If you
are holding him and he wants to get down, he says 'up'.
The photos above are of Josh feeding the ducks, playing at the park, helping me mow the lawn, and sitting
on his little couch. I like that last photo because he looks so casual and relaxed.
