Intro
Hope these darned thumbnails finally work...but since they make the page slower, i've split the gallery into 2
sections. You're currently in the Bryce and Universe Section. The Photoshop
Section in separate. Note: Someone give your
opinion on whether I should split the galleries further into "Bryce
Page 1", "Bryce Page 2" etc to improve loading times. The
Universe images are made in an awesome program called Universe from www.diardsoftware.com.
If you want to see more images like these, check out the galleries on their
site.
Here we go:
Name | Bryced On | Size | Description |
---|---|---|---|
Eid Mubarak 2000 | 6-1-00 | 42kb | Variant of Hills, used as a quick 'n dirty eid card |
Hills | 28-12-99 | 29kb | More
playing around with Bryce 4's atmosphere. Pretty cool pic.
Good Wallpaper. |
Caged Ponds | 12-12-99 | 24kb | Some interesting ponds, which are caged over. |
Sunset + Drops | 11-12-99 | 27kb | Much
improved variant of the one below.
Awesome Wallpaper!! |
Burning Droplets | 11-12-99 | 35kb | Just
discovering the atmosphere in Bryce 4...
Made the Droplets in RayDream, imported them into Bryce...the old computer used to be waay too slow to do that... |
Tree in the Cracks | 18-11-99 | 38kb | One of my first pics with Bryce 4 - i've got a brand new computer to play around on - P!!! 450 with 128 megs of RAM - way cool! |
ArticDawn | 16-10-98 | 39kb | The variation of Leadland. The underlying models are pretty much the same, just the surface textures were changed. Amazing the effect they can have. |
Lead Land | 14-10-98 | 36kb | Dreary, ain't it? Will do a "cooler" variation of it, when i get the render time. |
OceanSpires | 13-10-98 | 55kb | Ain't it cool? Inspired by some stuff I saw on TV, about Tsunami's. The real rocks on TV looked infinitely more gorgeous than my attempt. |
Forgotten Mask | Forgot | 104kb | Another bit of fiddling produced this one. The original terrain map for the face came from a picture of gillian anderson. This one needed quite a bit of photoshop...i needed the bryce anti-aliasing to smooth the edges, but that smoothing also removed a lot of the golden glitters from the terrain. So I had to composite the aliased and anti-aliased versions. But the JPEG compression removed a lot of the gold...also removed some lines I didn't want. As a variant of this image, I made the digimask image. |
River of Mist | Forgot | 11kb | I love the JPG Format! 901kb's to 11 kb! Amazing! This one came out of some random fiddling about with the sky/fog editor. Neat. THe "crack" texture I made in KPT texture explorer3. But the irritating bits are the "banding" on the land. Came because KPT made 24bit grayscale, and the Bryce terrain editor converted to 8bit grayscale. Irritating. |
Forbidden island | Forgot | 44kb | s**t. took 5.25 hours to render this baby on a 16meg 100MHz pentium. Longest scene I ever did. And, as luck would have it, the scene should have taken 6 hours. The power failed before the last 200 rows of pixels could be anti-aliased. Dammit... |
Chocolate
Rising | Forgot | 17kb | silly pic. some text with a chocolate material I made applied. |
Precarious | Forgot | 59kb | Most of these names come up when i save the renderings...most of the names are nonsense...check the pic. |
Eidy | Forgot | 23kb | Normally, whenever an occasion like a birthday or religious festival comes up, I whip up a card in photoshop and send it off to everyone. But the last eid (a muslim festival type thing), I was in a brycey mood, couldn't for the life of me figure out a good photoshop pic. So I made this. |
Cage thingy | Forgot | 70kb | couldn't think of a fancy name. I got the inspiration from a PCWorld cover. I guess I did exactly what they did - apply a preset material to a preset object in a preset ocean under a preset sky. System crashed before the anti-aliasing finished... |
Balls of Steel | Forgot | 40kb | Neat name, right? Another basic scene, but one of my prettiest. |
First Shot | Forgot (damn!) | 21kb | The first organized scene I made in bryce. Very basic - I only included it here for "historical value" (people will say "Oh, Salman's first piece of work, priceless..." |
Name | Created: | Size | Description |
---|---|---|---|
Earth | 13-4-2000 | 30kb | Just felt like screwing with the earth. Planet and stars done in universe, then planet radically altered in photoshop |
Quake Galaxy | 26-3-2000 | 24kb | About 10 minutes combined work in Universe and Photoshop, which i did on a whim after finding the quake logo in an installer. |
Hammu B's Birthday Card | 5-2-2000 | 53kb | Birthday card I made for my favorite cousin. |
WooHoo! | 13-1-2000 | 22kb | Made this to celebrate the day I had my
O'Level Bengali exam, and sent it to everyone. Was a huge relief knowing I'll
never have to study that language again. And I eventually got an A!!
Universe did the stars, Photoshop did the text and then back to Universe to add the flares. |
The End is Near (New Years 2000) | 29-12-99 | 55kb | My Year 2000 new Years card - a lot of
work in both Universe (the nebulae, the stars, and the lens flares) and
Photoshop (the text and the very carefully repositioned lens flares).
Definitely one of my best! Fit in very well with all the millennium hype at the time. Cool wallpaper too. |
Golden Nebulae |
sometime 99 | 21kb | Just an experiment... |
