NEED I SAY MORE.............We need your thoughts, memories, so we can answer these inquiries from people who long for information.

Numerous, wonderful sons and daughters are joining us for the reunion.  They are making the effort so that their dads can be with their friends one more time.   Bravo!

Returns are coming in for the reunion and word comes from Wendell Gudka that he and Helene will not be able to attend.  Cancer treatments will keep him at home for a while.  Also,  Bill Pierce writes that he is held back due to health problems.  Paul Van Nostrand sends word that he will also not be able to attend and will miss seeing everyone.

Received a note from Richard Lockard.  He suffered a stroke last July and is still trying to recover.  They will have to miss the reunion but say hello to all their old friends. Donald Close tells us that he will not attend due to cancer treatments he is receiving.  John Kacewicz is also receiving cancer treatments and will most likely not be able to attend. Dick Charlton informs us that Doris is not recovering as quickly as they had hoped.  Doris wants to see a grandchild in Idaho for the 1st time and can not possibly make 2 long trips so it is most likely that we will not have them at our event.

Grace Hahn sent word that she has had a good winter, misses Lowell but is getting along well. Merle Lawrence says that he is working at writing up his war experiences.  He is now 86, still swimming a half mile 3 to 4 times per week.  Right on!

Richard Lockard's note said that he suffered a stroke last July and is still working hard at recovery.  He and Lillian will truly miss being with you at the reunion.

Health problems are plaguing Bill and Jessie Pierce.  The Warnimonts said no due to health problems but, we understand they are reconsidering.

Bob Davis left a message on the Web that Aurelia needs to mend and heal so they can attend Boston 2 in 2002.  Hope she has mended and healed.........Sorry but, late word tells us that Aurelia has not mended well enough so they will not be attending.

The Waechters send their regrets.  They're too "old" for this traveling nonsense.  Marlin, this may be your last chance to try to sell me your newspaper!  I only buy from people who show up in person.

RETURNS for the reunion are showing many changes in addresses, area codes, telephone numbers and even email addresses.  These will all be published in the new MEMBER ROSTER that will be given out at the reunion and mailed to all who can not attend.

Upon return from a train excursion across Canada we were greeted with a package from Stephen Ambrose, the author.  With deep regret, the book on the men who fought in the Pacific has had to be put off indefinitely because Dr. Ambrose has been diagnosed with lung cancer.  Thus, all of our material has been returned and that office closed.  If I hear that Dr Ambrose is well enough to continue this project, I will be sure to resubmit all of your memories and experiences.

REMEMBER TO RETURN YOUR REGISTRATION FORM WITH YOUR DUES ENCLOSED, WHETHER OR NOT YOU ARE ABLE TO ATTEND.

Friendship, what would we do without it,
Best wishes to all,
Editor,
Louise Thoman
