11th Aug 2002 is an unforgettable day for Bukit Panjang Community Club Dragon & Lion Dance Troupe. The troupe has made Singapore proud in the home of the dragon, China. Our troupe together with 5 other strong teams from the region were invited to participate in the International Dragon Dance Competition (Day Light) in the 2002 China Qinhuangdao Sports and Fitness Festival which was held from 9 - 15 Aug 2002.

After 2 round of close fights (Preliminary and Final), the troupe finally won the championship; beating the China National Champion Team by 0.02 points. (Singapore 18.33, China 18.31.

HK Luminous Dragon Dance and Lion Dance Tournament
Eight luminous dragons and 18 lion dance teams from 11 countries and regions such as China, Chinese Taipei, Germany, Macau, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Indonesia, Singapore, the United States, Japan and Hong Kong particpated in the Championships.
