| 12/22- This info is from Metal Mario. Nick, in a lame effort to keep their ratings up, will not be showing Invader Zim until February, because apparently that's the month of the rating sweeps (as if waiting will boost their rating's any higher). As slaves of Jhonen, you are commanded to stare blankly into the television until February! Looking forward to the Invader Zim toys? Well look no more- cuz here's a sweet little deal that I think you'll like veeeery well. A friend of mine, JSLSRA knows a friend of her mom who is a toy manufacturer for the main Nick building in New York. What does this have to do? Well, JSLSRA says that if you e-mail her Zim merchandise ideas, she'll give it to this friend who will share it with the other toymakers! So e-mail, e-mail, e-mail if you reaaaaally have a toy that you're just aching to get created. There's no guaruntee, of course, but at least we can hope to avoid cheesy merchandise (It's hug n' glow Zim!) I got this from Zel a while back. She e-mailed Hot Topic. The reply reads: Hot Topic will be the ONLY store to have Invader Zim merchandise until next spring!!!(2002) We'll have t-shirts available later this month(Nov. 2001). Watches, hats, lunchboxes, keychains, and clocks should be out next month (Dec. 2001). Toys will be available early in 2002.(Gir plushie, anyone?) Thanks for the interest!!!!! Melodi So... much... Zim... ::drool:: Oh, and for all you central fans out there, shave off an hour of these times. For those in the mountains, add an hour. ((Exerpt from Rhino.com]] "On October 2, Nickelodeon and Kid Rhino release THE NEWEST NICKTOONS, a collection of songs from the network's most popular shows, including SpongeBob SquarePants, Rugrats, Rocket Power, Hey Arnold!, CatDog, Invader Zim, and Angry Beavers. The 52-track compilation contains all new music, not included on the debut Nickelodeon release The Best Of Nicktoons, which is now out of print. ((A 1998 release; a used copy can be bought at Amazon.com))" How many of these 52 tracks will ACTUALLY be Invader Zim, I don't know. But don't let the number of tracks put you off! The price remains generally low. Here's what I've gotten from places so far: Amazon.com is selling them for $13.27, plus shipping/handling. Tower Records are selling them for 12.99, the shipping/handling price accounts, of course, if you order them online (but it'd probably be best to just go out and get them. You also will probably be able to buy them from Kid Rhino or The Wherehouse, but neither have pricing set up. Okay. There's more! But it doesn't really pertain to Invader Zim, exactly. Here's where the scary part comes in: "Kid Rhino has teamed up with several cross-promotional partners to celebrate the release of THE NEWEST NICKTOONS: Oral B/Gillette: an on-pack promotion will consist of a FREE three-song CD sampler of the THE NEWEST NICKTOONS album with the purchase of Oral B's Rugrats or Nickelodeon Ice Mint toothbrush and toothpaste set. The NEWEST NICKTOONS CD sampler with brush and paste will be made available to consumers in Fall 2001. Oscar Meyer Lunchables: In their summer mobile "Build Your Own Fun" tour in support of their new snack line, The Newest Nicktoons will be featured on table tents and will be played at the events along with The Newest Nicktoons stickers going into over 12,000 kids gift bags. The tour will be traveling to such venues as parks, zoos, minor league baseball parks, museums, waterparks and Six Flag themeparks from June through August 2001. Additional Nickelodeon licensees such as Infogrames Nicktoons Nick Tunes CD ROM Game, THQ's Rocket Power Game Boy, Simon & Schuster's Rugrats and Wild Thornberry books and Golden books, Rocket Power books will support the album with ads about the release in their products. " News! Oh boy, don't you just love these. Well, unless you haven't heard, there will be a FOUR HOUR Invader Zim marathon! It will being at 2:00 pacific/eastern (1:00 central), and will feature old episodes (Bestest Friend, Nano-Zim, etc.) as well as new (Bolognius Maximus, Game Slave 2). How reliable this is is unknown, but here's a list of times and episode info, click here. Whoa. A LOT of Invader Zim! ::hugs Nick:: O.o ((Note: All central times recieve this 1 hour earlier, and mountain times recieve this 1 hour later.)) Sat, Sept. 1: 8:00 AM Invader ZIM: A Room with a Moose; Hamstergeddon 8:30 AM Invader ZIM: Invasion of the Idiot Dog Brain; Bad, Bad Rubber Piggy Sun, Sept. 2: 8:00 AM Invader ZIM: The Nightmare Begins 8:30 AM Invader ZIM: Germs; Dark Harvest Sun, Sept. 9: 1:00 PM Invader ZIM: Bestest Friend; Nanozim Thank you El Juno, for finding this for me. This information is from Ain't It Cool and has been posted by Agent Darkbootie (don't ask, I won't know). 1. For those flocking to the San Diego Comic-Con, ZIM is being paired on a panel with "Fairly Oddparents" for no other reason than Nickelodeon's lazy publicity department. Hapless hearts torn between Jhonen Vasquez and the simultaneously-running Kevin Smith panel should know that the "Oddparents" half of the Nickstravaganza is slated to run first, so they can discretely sneak away from Kevin after half an hour and make the ZIM Shindig of Love. I'm sure Kevin won't be hurt. 2. They will be screening one, possibly two new episodes of ZIM -- which episodes are not yet determined -- after which, Jhonen will pretend to answer questions from the audience. ("Jhonen, ARE you actually trying to take over the world through children's television?") 3. Yes, the accursed streak of reruns will end in August, and a whole slew of new epsiodes are slated to come down the pipe. Among them are such titles as "Bad, Bad Rubber Piggy," "Invasion of the Idiot Dogbrain," "A Room With a Moose," "Hamstergeddon," "Bloaty's Pizza Hog," "A Plague of Babies," and others. Could one ask for more? One could, but one would be ignored. (Go check out 'The Show Itself...' page for more info on these episodes) 4. The total number of episodes this season will be 20. (That's 14 new ones still to come.) And Nick has picked us up for a second season of 20 more. Season two is in the script stage right now, while season one cartoons are still in production. It takes much, much longer to make a cartoon than to watch it, you see. 5. In the upcoming episodes, ZIM at no point falls in love, learns a lesson in life, adopts a lovable orphan boy, or discovers the true meaning of Christmas. He does, however, do battle with the fearsome Hogulus. (And so, the ZAGR vs. Slash war rages on... which is about to be joined by a new opponent: Invader Zim Incest) 6. The Almighty Tallest will be in more stuff. (Score!) Nick.com is giving us more Invader Zim. Here are the dates/times: Saturday, July 28: "Attack of the Saucer Morons; The Wettening" at 12:30 central, 1:30 pacific/eastern, 2:30 mountain Saturday, August 4: "Parent/Teacher Night; Walk of Doom" at 12:30 central, 1:30 pacific/eastern, 2:30 mountain It seems that Nick has definitely heard our pleas. When I checked out the schedule at Nick.com , I discovered that they have a big Zim weekend planned for us. So when do you get your extra helpings of Invader Zim? Find out: Saturday: 3:00-4:00 pm Central, 4:00-5:00 pm Pacific and Eastern, 5:00-6:00 pm Mountain Sunday: 4:00 pm Central, 5:00 pm Pacific and Eastern, and 6:00 Mountain Possibly (if it won the U-pick supposedly scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday [7/21]): 7:30 pm Central, 8:30 pm Pacific and Eastern, 9:30 pm Mountain Invader Zim has once again made it to the Nick U-Pick ! Go and vote... and stuff. It's running against Rocket Power and Rugrats... but I'm sure you don't want to hear my theory about the rise and fall of the popular show vs. popular show vs. popular show. Anyway, the votes for Zim have been decreasing, so if you do plan to vote (incessantly...) it might be best to do it. Or, we can trick them! Ha hah! We'll all ban together and vote INSANELY on sunday like hell, and that'll blow those other RP/Rugrats fans out of the water! Ok... now I know I've had to much sugar. Wonder if there's any caffeine lying around... The Invader Zim section of the Nick.com website has been updated! There are two new secret sections you have to find to get a few little Invader Zim related treats. Go here Invader Zim and try and figure out where! Ok, ok, here's a hint: Both of them are either AT or IN Zim's house. One you have to have a password to get inside (you have to give the answer to a trivia question Zim asks... don't e-mail me asking me what it is, 'cuz I'm not giving it... well, ok... maybe...), and the other is just really well hidden. Checked out Nick.com lately? You may notice that the Invader Zim site announces that new episodes begin August 17, 9 p.m. (eastern & pacific) and 8 p.m. (central). I was kind of hoping it'd be at the beginning of August o.o Oh well. You get what you can take, right? 7/1: I was reading through some reviews of Invader Zim and found this nifty bit of info from MTV Networks. Direct quote: In "Bad, Bad Rubber Piggy," ZIM builds a time machine to rid the world of Dib forever, but due to a miscalculation, the only object that can travel back in time is GIR's toy pig. When ZIM's plan backfires, Dib becomes more threatening then ever. This seems to be an interesting episode never shown. Hopefully it will show up in fall's continuation of Season One. 6/26-Well, I found some news that I felt had to be said ((x.x this means that I'm eventually going to have to make a 'news' page too)). This comes from from Bow To Me, Meatbag! Invader Zim will thankfully continue to air. It's NOT going to be cancelled! In fact, 20 more new episodes will be made for Season 2 alone. Season 1 will continue on with 14 more episodes. The downside? It'll be running reruns until ALL the shows go away from summer break and begin starting up again (meaning we'll have to wait until fall to get the new episodes). The next two episodes, supposedly going to premiere in August, are called "Planet Jackers" and "Zitboy". |
