Crystal Mountain exists on another plane. Phinox was lead there many years ago, through a series of odd and amazing happenings in her life. When Phinox and I became friends she shared this realm with me. Since I had no trouble at all accessing this plane and confirming that I experienced it in the same way she did, we decided to share with the others of Harmony.

Phinox and I had both been there on our own and so we were not sure how a group experience would work, let alone going there while simultaneously chatting on IRC.We were pretty sure that both of us could do it, having had experience with conscious channelling which requires the ability to remain grounded in reality and at the same time receive information from beyond. We decided to make it, at least to begin with, a guided meditation with eyes open. No different really than reading a book and seeing clearly the images that the author calls up within you.

Except of course there is a big difference when what you are experiencing takes on a life of it's own. Now...you could say that that is simply imagination taking over from the guided parts. We wondered about that ourselves, but you'll see that we found ways to check and see if we were influencing each other's experiences.

Phinox, RowanFox, Shun, Jose and I all assembled in front of our computers scattered all over the continent at the appointed time. Phinox played Master of Ceremonies and lead everyone into the realm of Crystal Mountain. As we paused on the pathway close to where Phinox has "landed" us, we were asked to look around and say what we saw. We were given a minimum of information on the landscape of this mystical realm. Everyone was not only perfectly comfortable in this realm but were "seeing" vivid images which they all talked about. We not only saw images, but literally felt ourselves within another reality. Some reported smells, or the way the path felt under their feet. We had all managed to totally experience a different world while staying connected to each other through our computers.

In fact the experience was so intensely real that we forgot about checking to see if we were influencing each other's perceptions. Fortunately we had Shun with us who managed to keep his head and ask other people if they were seeing what he was, without saying what he was looking at. He told us later that each and every question he asked confirmed that we were experiencing the same reality. That's pretty amazing when you think about it. First time out

Our first time out was like a great adventure. Like kids in a candy shop, we were astounded at the variety of experience available to us. That first time out Phinox lead us up a path that led to a sheer rock face on the side of a mountain. An entrance appeared before our eyes and we stepped inside a tunnel lit by glowing walls of smooth crystal. We found ourselves in a large cavern within the mountain and discovered a man waiting there to greet us. We refer to him as "the Merlin" and he took us to another chamber on that trip.

In that chamber we each had a short but intense ritual performed for us. The Merlin placed seven glowing gems of different colours in our bodies. The gem's colours correlated with the colours of the chakras or energy centers. It was most interesting to listen to everyone describe the sensations they felt while this was happening. Imagine feeling something that is only happening in ones mind! This experience changed each of us in some way. Knowing that there may well be other realms or realities that we can visit is one thing...but physically feeling the effects of it is another. Clearly we had had our energy systems boosted and balanced. Some of us reported feeling full of energy, including a tingling in the fingers and other extremities, while others felt the effects as calming. Needless to say, we were all pretty blown away by this unexpected bonus.

I think something else happened that day as well. We were all friends before we went travelling, but afterwards we were a more closely knit group. One of the effects of visiting other realms is that your appearance there changes. For some reason we all found ourselves in clothing that suited the space we were in. We made no conscious choice of how we would be garbed...this too, happened on it's own. We spent time looking at each other and describing what we saw. We teased each other about what we were wearing and how great we all looked. Out of this initial experience came the surety that we could be influenced by this world....we all found that the effects of the chakra balancing were lasting ones. We also had a whole new purpose as a group..to thoroughly explore this place together. We have made many trips back there and I'm sure we will continue to do so while adding other realms to the list.

The Library

The next time we visited Crystal mountain, we returned to the cave and followed a tunnel inside the mountain that led to a spiral staircase. At the top of the staircase we found a huge circular room. The walls of the room were lined with twelve windows. These windows did not look out on the outdoors however, but rather seemed like glass with nothing behind it.

Phinox explained that this was the Great Rotunda, and that each of the windows was an aspect of self. We could, if we chose, come here to look within ourselves. Each window would reflect back for us,what we needed to know in that part of our lives. The twelve windows represented the twelve houses of the astrological chart. Soul by Phinox

Although we have been back to the Rotunda, on this trip we crossed the room and opened a doorway on the other side.We found ourselves in a hallway and discovered large doors leading to a vast library. There was a pitcher of mulled cider and goblets waiting for us on a table. Shun and I sat in 2 enormous wing-backed chairs and sipped our cider, while RowanFox went exploring. There was a table at the side of the room that had attracted her attention. On it she found a large book with glyphs on the front. Feeling daring, she opened the book, only to discover that the images within the book were unlike any she had seen before. The images were shifting and changing before her eyes. She called us over to have a look and we all experienced the same effect. RownFox found this a trifle disconcerting and decided she would explore the book at another time.

Shun and I decided it was time to have a look around the library. While he was reading titles on the main floor, I decided to try and avoid climbing all the stairs that led to the upper levels, and just levitate. It worked of course, because anything is possible when in such a magical place. On the upper levels I found books in many languages and on unlimited subjects. The library is so vast that it seems almost overwhelming.

We all had the feeling that we could find material on any subject we chose within these walls, and possibly knowledge that comes from beyond our world. We all felt like we had been given a grand treasure. We have made many trips back to the library to learn and expand our concepts.

The library will always be a treasure for us...imagine access to any knowledge? It's even better than the internet!

An Enchanted Forest

On another occasion we made the trip to Crystal Mountain and instead of going into the mountain itself, we did some exploring.

On this occasion I was leading, because I had noticed a forest not far from us. We followed a path that took us deep into the woods, and as we entered we could sense the difference in atmosphere. I remember the smell of pine and the difference in temperature. Many of us noticed the change and everyone was making comments...about the sounds of the birds , or the squirrels in the trees and so on.

I lead the way down the path deep into the forest until the path just ended. I found myself standing in front of a huge oak tree. As I looked at it and wondered why a path would end at a tree, a door materialised in the base of the tree. Some of the other's where asking "is that a door?", so I knew this wasn't just an imagining of mine.

The door opened and a "man" about 4 feet tall stepped out. He looked like a gnome who had been carved out of the tree itself. His face was craggy, but more like the bark of an old oak than like skin. His eyes were leaf green and (it seemed to me) very wise.

Naturally everyone else saw him as well. He never spoke, but I could feel him in my mind. He had a bag in his hands, a green drawstring affair. He opened the top and as he did so I heard in my mind "Reach in and find your gift". The bag looked empty to me, but I did as I was told and put my hand in. At the bottom my hand encountered something round and smooth so I took hold of it and pulled it out. I was holding a small globe of stone...at least I think it was stone. It seemed to be a curious mixture of crystal and stone. I realised that it was a symbolic gift and that I may not initially understand it's meaning, so I thanked the little man with as much grace as I could muster and stood aside.

He gestured to the others to each step up and take their turn. Each one of us pulled out something different from that pouch...and for each of us there was a highly personal reason for what we had received. I can tell you that the globe I received represented the world...our globe. I am first and foremost an artist but I had never shared my art with the world, only with family and friends. I am also a natural channel for energy and can bring about changes in environment and people.I had only shared this with a limited number of people as well. This gift reminded me that I was ready to share in a broader way.

I have made changes for myself since then...this site for instance, and I now have my art in a gallery in Florida, and who knows what else can happen?

One of the reasons that I wanted to share these experiences with others is that this kind of life-enhancing expansion should be open to all. Our experiences are only one doorway, but it is a particularly fun way to learn and grow. As you will see, not all our trips are serious ones. Sometimes we go out and play...read on.

The Waterfall

There was one time when we were in the Library in Crystal mountain and RowanFox said that she could hear water somewhere. I said that I has noticed a door at the end of the hallway outside the library and that it looked like it led to a greenhouse. We were in the mood to explore, so we went and found the door and stepped through.

We found ourselves in a long narrow greenhouse perched on the side of the mountain.The smells were intoxicating! Around us were growing many plants that we recognised and some we didn't. There was fruit growing on some of the trees. Shun put aside his usual careful nature and plucked some fruit to taste. I remember this because he was astonished that he could actually taste it. He said that his mouth was watering in response to what he was doing in this other realm.

We could all hear rushing water while in the greenhouse and as we made our way to the other end, we could see a door that led outside. Out we went, to discover the waterfall below us and to the left. We carefully made our way down a steep and narrow path...watching our steps as we went. In retrospect this was a little silly...since we had long since mastered the technique of "popping" into this realm with no effort at all, and I am sure we could have just popped down to the falls, but it does illustrate just how immersed we become in the surroundings.

Once we were all safely at the pool at the bottom of the falls (hehe) RowanFox yelled "Last one in is a rotten egg" and executed a perfect dive into the water. We all followed suit, and got very silly and had a great deal of fun!

Once we had calmed down from the sheer joy of our swim, we began to take a closer look at our surroundings. The plant life around us was unusual in that it encompassed species from several different climates and everything was incredibly lush and over-sized. RownFox dubbed the place "Jurassic Garden".

One of us (Jose? Shun? sigh...bad memory)noticed a path that led up and around the falls. Feeling rejuvenated after our swim, we decided to explore further and follow the path. It led us to a hollow behind the waterfall. There, we found a chest with an unreadable sigil marked on the top. Being brave and daring souls, we opened the chest. We discovered that it was protected however, and not meant for us. We put everything back the way we found it and left for home.

This experience sparked a discussion on the reality we had been exploring. We had never been barred from anything before and we wondered why we had this time. It's possible that we were simply not ready for whatever lies within that chest. One day maybe we will go and look again. It did bring home the fact that this place exists separately from us. It's possible that one of us might envision a chest that is magically protected, but all four of us? It doesn't seem likely.

This trip left us feeling very happy and refreshed physically....maybe something in the water?
