My husband, Kurt & I have a two year old bichon named ISAH (acronym for "I sure am happy!") We have never been happier w/ a dog! Our friends call him our son. We have a sailboat in the Carribean we named ISAH II after him. We are totally in love with this little guy! He goes every where with us and we use him in our ads to market homes since we are both Realtors! Everyone loves him, just too cute for words. We recommend everyone has a bichon once. We are also much too attached to him. He has been very difficult to potty train, but we would not give him up for anything. He loves the car and he loves to sail, but we started him in the car at eight weeks and sailing by eight months. Sleeps on our pillow at night and is a great lapdog! Loves all the little children who visit too! Recently discovered he is allergic to almost everything, vet is starting him on allergy shots next week. We hope it gives him some relief. Cannot imagine our lives without him.

Topic: My Bichon Molly

Four years ago, I was given Molly as my sixteenth birthday present. She is the absolute best thing that has ever happened to me or my family (my parents resis ted the idea at first). Just having our Bichon in the house has lowered the stress level times ten. For the past three years in Sept. I have had to leave Molly to come to school. I miss her like crazy and call home every night just to talk to her! There is not an hour that goes by in the day that some cute little thing that she has done doesn't pop into my head.

Topic: My Bichon Josie

Josie is 9 years old. Her mother was Lalique and father Napoleon so we thought Josie shortened from was Josephine was appropriate. She, like most Bichons is a great lap dog and thinks she is human. Health-wise, she has had a bladder stone and pancreatitis over the years, fortunately recovering from both. She eats rd-canine food and it seems to agree with her well. She even barks in French! She's also develping a cataract but it doesn't seem to bother her. She is an integral part of our family but rarely travels. The car represents going to the vet for her and she gets the shakes.

Topic: Ability to read replies

Many of the comments and messages cover very important queries relating to Bichons and the ability to read the replies would be extremely useful. Your site is wonderful and very much appreciated. Taking the effort as you have is more than just commendable. Thank you very much.

Topic: Kasey, my Bichon

Kasey is the first bichon I have owned. Previously, I had a golden retriever. When she died at age 13, a friend recommended the bichon to me as "a golden in a small package." Kasey is loving, intelligent, playful and has a happier disposition than any other breed I have ever seen. Whenever he wants anything, he sits up on his hind legs and waves his front paws in the air. Every day when I go to work he waves bye-bye by standing on this hind feet and waving. He is the love of my life. I can't imagine not having a bichon.

Topic: Fluffy the Bichon

Fluffy is the one and only dog I have ever owned, he is the best doggie in the world! He's so happy and loves to play outside, I used to take him on the slide with me, but now he likes to slide down himself, he is so smart! He loves everybody that comes over my house and he requires that you throw him a toy so he can catch it when you arrive! I can't wait to get home from work everyday to see him!!! He's my teddy bear!!!

Topic: BoBo! My Bishon.

Bobo is my 6th dog. I bought him when he was 6 mths old to be a companion for my older poodle, Buttons, who was at that time 6 years old. I still remembered how Bobo used to antagonise Buttons. Incidently, if you may be wondering if I deliberately named my Bishon, Bobo, well, I didn't. It came with that name. Thus, I had two most adorable dogs: Buttons and Bo's.. ..get it? Anyway, Bobo is one of the cutest dogs I have every had. He always has a face that would make hearts melt just at the mere sight of him. He is easily pleased. All is wants is his tennis ball to play with and someone to be with him constantly. He always looks forward to my arrival, esp. after work. I would drop him off at my aunts place before work and pick him later. Apparently, he always gets so restless at about 5pm. I've had him for about 10 years now, and he is no doubt the joy of my life. I couldn't think of being with any other dog right now!!

Topic: PUFF the Magic Bichon

I was happy to find a Bichon Page on the net - the only thing I like better than my dog & my truck is surfin the net. Puff loves to travel in the truck and is oh so content at my feet while I am on the computer (like right now). Keep up the great work - the more info you can share on "our" best friends the better your site will be. Thanx!

Topic: Bichon Downunder

Our household has two new toys: a Bichon bitch called Gem which we have had 4 weeks, and Internet access, which we have had for 4 hours! Bichon was one of the first things that we 'looked up' on the net and are delighted to find that so many people share our delight in this breed. Gem is dozing beside the key board as we speak and already has her new owners well trained. Her nick name should be Houdini as she manages to escape from her pen at least once a day/night. Can fit through the smallest gap and is so proud of her achievement, however time/growth should take care of that! Good luck and all the best to all owners from little old New Zealand.

Topic: Cataract Removal

This is for Stanley and Josie (and anyone) who has a cataract problem. Our Westie had a cataract and it was successfully removed by a wonderful canine ophthalmalogist. It was wonderful to have her sight restored! Expensive, but well worth it. See if there is an ophthalamologist in your area -- you'll be so glad you did. We are thinking of getting a Bichon and it is wonderful to read all the positive comments.

Topic: MY WONDERFUL SITA

I have a 13 year old Bishon Frise! She is so wonderful. She still is a very happy dog, and she enjoy life every day. She is a litle "old lady" full of energy and spirit!! But it will be a awful loss when she one day is going to leave me and this world! It`s almost freqtening to think about how much this litle dog means to me! But one have to think about all the great years one had together. And all the good memories one can carry with one, after one have lost a dear "friend".

Topic: We love our Buster Bear

My fiance bought my little Buster to help my homesickeness when I moved to Florida from Texas. Buster is an absolute tyrant. He eats shoes, socks and underwear, digs in the trash, barks at night and gets into everything. But he's so adorable, he gets away with it all. Buster loves bunny rabbits, and his favorite movie is Babe. He gets along very well with the cats, and has even become our little "cat patrol" because he keeps an eye on them and doesn't let them get into any trouble. He loves to ride in the car and nap on the cold tile of the bathroom floor. My fiance is now about to become my husband, and we couldn't image life without our little bear. And any man who will pay $700 for a dog just to make his sweetheart feel better is well worth keeping!

Topic: I love them !!!

I have dad who is 4 and baby who reccently tured 8 months. This breed was new to me until we received Kirby 4 years ago. They are cute, sweet little dogs. They take such absolute joy in life. They are a delight to have around. My boys are intelligent, and no one could ever ask for a more loving companion. My fellow have not a "mean bone" in those little white bodies. Don't get me wrong, my guys come off very loud when they see someone in thei yard. They are fearless, despite their size. Their bark is enough to send intruders elsewhere. I guess by now you know I love my little bichons. How could I not???

Topic: Rabies shot reaction

I have had trouble with agivent tissue reaction from Rabies shots. These are bald spots on my fuzzy Bichons. I have talked to a few others who have had this problem too. Sometimes the hair grows back, and sometimes not. I would appreciate any help I can get on this problem. Bald spots on show dogs are a no no. Is it the way they are getting the shots? I have had this with two different vaccines. My friends were unsure which vaccines their vet used. Please help.
