NOW FOR THE GOOD PART! The Nassau Blue Vette you see me washing in the picture is a very special one ( I know all of them are right?*smiles*, but this one really is. It was originally built for Chevrolet's Public Relations Division for promotions to the general press in the northeast. Guess that makes it a Yankee car huh? Anyway, after lending it out for a while to the press and many articles being written, it was sold. Stephen Schneider, the publisher of CSK Publications bought the car and featured it twice in VETTE MAGAZINE, and also included it in the video tape called "How To Make Your Corvette Faster". And that they did! Greg Carroll owner of the famous Carroll Supercharging Company worked his magic on this special car. Installed on it was a Paxton SN-89 Supercharging Syetem, complete with water/alcohol injection, boost pressure gauge, complete Borla Stainless Steel Exhaust System, and custom made full roller rockers. When the car went up for sale I purchased it on Easter 1996 and my oldest son MATT and I drove it back from New York. We had a blast in it, and it is a real head turner. After I got home with it, I started adding a few goodies of my own, like the front and rear high wing spoiler, custom spark plug wires, special spark plugs, throttle body air foil, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and others. Being a firm died in the wool Castrol fan I switched over to Castrol SYNTEC Synthetic Oil.

*************************=======> UPDATE !!!

UPDATE! Aug. 21 , 1998 The blue Carroll Corvette is getting ready to be further modified and updated and getting a DRASTIC increse in the horsepower department. I am having custom made heads being built right now, and a custom ground cam to go with it, and adding some 30 lbs./hr matched fuel injectors, along with a new clutch & pressure plate, timing chain and other go fast stuff. On the SAFETY SIDE of things a new custom 4 point roll bar and a set of 5 point racing belts are being installed. According to the cam grinders computer simulated dyno, I should be able to expect 550-600hp, and more if I do a few "other" things. I just might. If I can find (or anyone knows of) a chassis DYNO in this area, please let me know, as that should be very interesting. When it's all complete and tested, if you would like the exact details for the engine, just e-mail me, and I will lie my behind off telling you how to do it ... I am also considering opening a C-4 Corvette Specialty shop by the name of "SCAR PERFORMANCE" S.C.A.R. is an anacronym for Sports Car Auto Repair and Performance. What do you think about this? Anyone interested in sending me their car for some go fast mods? If so, let me know, and we can discuss the details. But be warned, I don't get in a rush, if it's not done right, it does not get done at all, ok? At the same time, I am trying out some experimental modifications on the grey 1984 which has the infamous "cross-fire injection system" that everyone says can't be made to perform. We will see. The heads are getting replaced, the engine totally rebuilt, the transmission modified and rebuilt, and a lot of TOP SECRET work being done on it. When it's all done and tested, I will let you know how it turned out, in any case, this is turning out to be a great deal of fun! Just as an interesting note....about a year ago, I left a traffic light and the engine started running on 7 cylinders. When I got home I checked everything and found that a spark plug has closed off at the electrode. I regapped the plug, ran a compression test, looked in the cylinder best as I could and even felt around with a piece of wire. Found nothing. Car ran great and no problems after that. When I pulled the heads off of it the other day, SURPRISE! A large chunck was missing out of the piston and about a 2 inch section of the top ring was missing. I found a few parts of it embedded in the aluminum cylinder head. Now remember, since that happened, the car had been drag raced several times, driven everyday to work and errands, ect. All with no problems and no apparent infringement on performance, although I did note a small decrease in gas mileage and idle quality. SO, now that that happened, it's time for a new set of 10 over JE pistons, maybe aluminum conn rods...and I would REALLY like to go ahead and install the TPIS Mini-Ram Intake system, 58 mm throttle body and a good aftermarket ignition system. PROBLEM...already sent the money on the first pass at the go fast goodies, and I can't find my piggy bank anywhere. Time will tell on this part. Maybe even a set of headers huh? Why not, I can dream...... ********************************************************

There is more about the car that I can tell, but if I do, there won't be anything left for you to come back by and check up on, huh? *smiles* As a closing word, I would like you to know that this car is driven everyday...rain, snow, ice and heat. It goes where I go, because it takes me there. It now has 100,000 miles and is still going strong. How strong? Well, come to some of the shows in our area like the Corvette Homecoming in Bowlingreen KY and find out. Maybe next time I will include some documented track times. Return often to find out. I will be changing the pictures in here often, and hope to keep this page alive and dynamic...all I have to do now is learn how... feel free to leave any comments or suggestions in the guest book or send them to me e-mail or say HELLO in ICQ. Have fun! Barrett Now check out PAGE 2 for more good stuff!
