WHO ARE WE?

The Islamic Human Rights Commission was set up in 1997, as an umbrella organization for a variety of projects relating to Muslims and their rights both in the UK and abroad.

Our aims are manifold. It is a well documented fact that over 80% of human rights abuses perpetrated world-wide are against Muslims.

Our homepage gives an outline of some of our work. This includes submitting reports to governments and international organizations, writing articles, monitoring the media, cataloguing war crimes, producing research papers, organizing vigils, taking on discrimination cases and so on. Our media section aims to highlight the continued and overwhelming oppression that faces Muslims worldwide.

Aside from our world index we have a number of country specific projects and research areas e.g. Chechnya and Nigeria. Our war crimes, prisoners of faith, and other issue related work, covers areas as far afield as the UK to China, Bosnia to Lebanon, Europe to the United States of America. Our previous months index highlights our most recent work, and we regularly update our homepage.

We aim to foster links with different organisations from the Muslim and non-Muslim world, to campaign for justice, for all peoples regardless of their racial, confessional or political background.

If you would like more information on our work, or would like to volunteer or become a member of ihrc, please contact us on the numbers below. Please help in whatever way you can.
