For you newer wrestling fans, I find it my duty as an American to inform you of the truth. The greatest wrestling heel of our day was once the greatest American hero of our time. It was not Hogan that turned his back on us, it was us who turned our backs on him. We became bored with good morales and positive thinking. The Cold War is over and Americans are loosing their nationalism. It makes me sick to look at the WWF now. Steve Austin would be a major heel during the 80's with his beer drinking and swearing in front of kids. The Hulkster would never have put up with that. We look at Hogan now with disgust for what he does every week on Nitro, but one day the prodigal son will return. The thing that makes him such a great bad guy is the same thing that makes him the most popular wrestler of all time (sorry Austin, Goldberg, HBK, and Flair). Hogan is, was, and always will be the most notable wrestler ever. He may suck in the ring, but for some reason or another everyone still wants to see him in the main event.

In 1996, wrestling needed a face lift. The formation of the NWO was probably the best thing that ever happend to wrestling. Without it there is no DX no Wolfpack and no ratings. Hogan made the NWO evil because their is nothing more evil than a traitor. The man everyone took for granite slapped us all in the face, and the wrestling community has greatly benifited from it. The NWO is established though, and he's had his stint as a heel. We want to see yellow and red again.
