19th October '99 - SCAGNETTI'S IS CLOSED!!!

Hey guys, Jerry here - yes I DO still exist!!! Just a short note to let you all know that Scagnetti's is no longer going to be added to. This site will merely be an archive facility and will not include anything released generally from now on. Instead, we are starting a sister site named 'Scagnetti 2000,' which we have already set up a link for on the front page. This may take a few weeks to get sorted but we promise to be back with you as soon as we can.

Thank you for all your support on Scagnetti's, it's been fun getting to know you all whilst promoting the name of the great one! Incidentally, should any of you be interested, you can bid for a photo of Tom promoting 'Witness Protection' on ebay, as shown below.
See you on the new site,
Jerry and James.

2nd October '99 - BRINGING OUT THE DEAD DATES FOR YOUR DIARY

Another quickie - Bringing Out The Dead has had release dates confirmed. It should be out on October 22nd in the States, and January 7th in the UK. Sod's law that us Brits should have to wait so long for this film, but then I guess we got The Match first. I know which one I'd rather see!

29th September '99 - BRINGING OUT THE PICTURES!

Just a quickie - some Bringing Out The Dead photos to whet your appetite. The day draws nearer - not too long before we finally get to see it! And Tom looks very cute in an ambulanceman's uniform. I vote for a fireman uniform next!

22nd September '99 - AND A RYAN VIDEO RELEASE FOR THOSE OF YOU LESS BLESSED WITH TECHNOLOGY!

Just seen that Saving Private Ryan is also being released on video on the 2nd November, with identical features and a RRP of $24.99 in a special edition double pack. So the choice is yours - I know which one I'd go for! Also no appearance for Tom in the London Film Festival I'm afraid, unless the surprise film turns out to be Bringing Out the Dead! I haven't got a ticket for that one so if I miss it I shall be kicking myself!

Also, those of you who regularly visit the site may have noticed that Jerry has been hard at work to delve behind these words and reveal exactly who is typing all this stuff! Yes, there is now a site featuring all sorts of rambling stuff about the two of us, so check it out when you can. It'll be updated as and when we can be arsed! Will be back next time I have things to report.....

21st September '99 - RYAN DVD RELEASE!

At long last, after keeping us on tenterhooks for about six months, Dreamworks have announced the release of Saving Private Ryan on DVD on November 2nd. It will be retailing for around $29.99, and features a widescreen version of the film, a 30-minute documentary on the making of the film, interviews with cast and crew, and a "personal message" from Steven Spielberg! Packaging claims that this is a limited edition, so I suggest you hurry! You can pre-order over the Internet - my recommendation is DVD Express. What with Strange Days coming out on DVD on the 28th September and featuring additional scenes and interviews with cast and crew, we may be in for a Tom treat! Keep your eyes open for Bringing Out The Dead which is due out next month in the States. It also stands a fair chance of appearing in the London Film Festival in November, so keep 'em peeled! Nothing else to report for now - be back soon!

11th August '99 - ALL QUIET ON THE SIZEMORE FRONT

Rest assured that I have not left the site, I just have no news of any import to tell you! Oh well, a quiet week. I'm sure he'll do something soon!!! Only news to report is yet more bad notices for The Match - not really surprising in my view. And the date for Strange Days on DVD has been put back a week. That's all folks!

2nd August '99 - MORE SAVING PRIVATE RYAN?

UK producer Duncan Kenworthy let the cat out of the bag in an interview for Total Film magazine this month, saying that he hoped that "although Saving Private Ryan was filmed mainly in Ireland, [he] hoped that that the TV series would be filmed in England". There is no firm news about a TV series yet, although one is definitely mooted. The aim is to create a series which "won't turn into another Tour of Duty", so keep your eyes peeled for that one. It pretty much goes without saying that none of the film's cast are expected to return for any TV series spin-off.

Other main news is another review of the Match, which got another slating at the hands of Heat magazine. Their review says "in a film about Scottish football, the presence of Tom Sizemore as a former GI 'gone native' is too shameless a sop to the American market". Oh well, no accounting for taste - I personally thought Tom was the one person who saved the film. Hey-ho.

30th July '99 - DATES FOR YOUR DIARY!

Couple of release dates for Tom Sizemore films for you (both Stateside only). Saving Private Ryan goes on sale in a limited edition VHS format on 2nd November, and Strange Days comes to DVD on the 7th September. About time!

Reviews for The Match were in most of this month's film magazines over here, and the film got pretty much slated. The main fault singled out was the writing, but the acting got some good write-ups and Tom received particular praise (many reviewers were clearly surprised to see him in such a low-budget UK film, and he certainly carried it off with aplomb).

I have dug out some old reviews which I hope to post on here soon - these are from UK magazines which don't have websites as far as I'm aware, so there may be some interesting stuff in there!!! Will keep you posted when I know more. Oh, and drop by Susan's site as she has recently posted a very nice quad poster for The Match and some recent pics of Tom in her news section. Catch you later guys...

29th July '99 - SIZEMORE NEVER ON A SUNDAY

Just to confirm - Tom Sizemore will NOT be appearing in Any Given Sunday. Oh well - Oliver Stone doesn't know what he's missing! And Bringing Out the Dead is pencilled in for a November release stateside - can't wait!

28th July '99 - SIZEMORE STONED?

Just read a piece in Premiere about Any Given Sunday, the long on-off in-and-out-of-production American Football movie being directed by Oliver Stone and starring Jamie Foxx (replacing Puff Daddy, who was at one time pencilled in as star), Al Pacino, Cameron Diaz....and allegedly one Tom Sizemore. Unfortunately he was not mentioned in this article or on the official website, and as the film has been yo-yoing around due to casting difficulties and scheduling conflicts, it's likely that he bowed out to pursue other projects. When I get confirmation of this, you will be the first to know. The film is scheduled for a January release through Warner Brothers.

The Match, which was originally due for a UK cinema release in July, is due for release on the 6th August now. If you read the review on Jerry's site, you'll know what I thought of it - Tom is definitely the best thing in it. I have some bits relating to Tom from the press pack which I shall try to post on here when I next get the chance.

Nothing more to report for the time being, so for now - sayonara!

25th July '99 - OH THE GLAMOUR OF THE WEBPAGE...

Well, hi everyone. Jerry and myself finally got our act together so we can get updates to you as and when we hear about them. I'll be your host for the time being, so if you have any exciting news you wish to tell me about (because we only hear so much in this little tinpot island here) you can e-mail me at j.vaughan@lineone.net. I'm just starting out at this, so if you can help it'll be very much appreciated!

Not much news to report at the moment. The one development that I have heard is that he has agreed to star in a film with Val Kilmer being produced by Warner Bros, tentatively titled Mars. As this is going head to head with a similarly titled project from another studio, there's a chance it may get no further than pre-production. I'll let you know if I hear any more.

Other TINY little bits of news to report is that Enemy of the State has been released on DVD in the UK, one of the few UK discs to feature the lovely Tom (Striking Distance and Passenger 57 are the only other available title). Although he's not in it for long, it's an excellent quality disc in which his scenes really stand out. And it's not a bad film either! Good news for fans of Heat as well, as it is soon to be released on DVD in both the UK and US. You lucky Americans have it lucky so far, as there are several titles available there, including Heart and Souls, Devil in a Blue Dress, The Relic and Passenger 57. More to follow, I'm sure!

Well hopefully I'll have plenty of news to update this page with - look forward to sharing with you! Ta-ra for now, anyway.
