THE COMFORTS OF HOME
Everyone wants to enjoy the things in
life that make their lives happy and comfortable. Throughout
our lives some of those things have been art in all forms. One of
our strongest loves has been for folkart and it is one of the things
that makes our lives stronger and our homes comfortable. Individual choices are numerous and varied, but the important thing is to make the choices that reflect yourself and the way you want to express yourself to others. It is amazing how a beautiful quilt, on a cold winter night, can surround you with warmth and comfort. Or how a beautiful heirloom smocked dress can put a sparkle in a girl's eye.
Have you ever noticed a still life painting of an apple with a
dew drop on it? These things always remind us of the country,
where in our hearts we grew up, and of our varied pasts.
All of these things help us to create the comforts of home.
Along with folkart comes folklore and family history.
Today, in our fast paced lives, we sometimes forget the past and
its rich legacy. Our goal with this site is to share the folkart,
folklore, and our love of all things beautiful with you. We hope
to bring you stories about our pets and love of all other animals, our home states, gardening, recipes, crafts, and anything else that brings a comfort to our souls and then yours.
It is both the surroundings and the heart that create the
comforts of home. We hope that your visit with us will bring a
new perspective to your life or at least put a smile upon your
face. Our wish for you is that you may find the comforts of home
within you and carry them wherever you may go. Enjoy your stay
with us and we hope that you will visit often.
Unfortunately, our "Flower Garden Kitty" webpage has been forever
lost and we are working on its restoration. It is said that
everything happens for a reason; many changes have occurred in
our kitty population,so this will be the perfect time to talk
about changes.
