Okay, you may have been wondering why there was a link to "my job," when this is supposed to be an anime related page. Well... my job is an anime job, therefore, it is still anime related. Enough on that, lemme start, you ignorant bastard.

As you can see on your right, that is the business card, as well as logo to the place I work at, Anime FX. It's located at Springfield Mall, Virginia, which is a little bit from where I live myself. What does Anime FX do? Anime FX is mainly an anime rental store, renting out a large selection of anime tapes. Hell, we've got over 1,600 tapes, yet the store hasn't been open for even a year. (Okay, for all you smart alec Virginian anime ignorant bastards, Anime FX has had several other aliases, such as Print FX in Landmark Mall, Comic Anime in Manassas, and so on, so don't you dare bother me about it.) We also sell a small to moderate selection of anime or Japanese merchandise.

A snapshot of what's inside, our walls of tapes, and tables of merchandise

I've been working at Anime FX since late June of 1998. The store opened on my birthday that year, and I really liked it, for it was now in a location that wasn't an arm and a leg's length away. I went just about everyday, and talked with the guys in charge. In about early June, I joked around with them about giving me a job, because I was not 18, therefore, I could not be employed. I still filled out an application, just to see how well I fared against others. I had just gotten a job at a pizza restaurant, so I stopped coming for a while. When I came back, I was told that sadly, me, the underaged guy, was more qualified than anyone else who had applied. They bent the rules for me, and I got a job. A week later, they hired my now good friend, Elise. We're still the only ones working there now.

Of course, Anime FX has the best in Hentai/Ecchi anime as well.

If you have any intelligence, you're probably wondering who "they" are. "They" are my managers. Anime FX is co-owned by three guys. Ben, Ryan, and Khiri. Ben's almost always at the other Anime FX location, so I get to work with Ryan and Khiri a lot of the time. Ryan and I spend a lot of our free moments talking about how we're going to kill everyone. Khiri, well, he's probably the most perverted little French-Laos person this world has ever seen. I love working with them both, and today, they gave me a slight raise. Huzzah.

My role at Anime FX? Well, I do a lot of the typical stuff, like help customers, fix up things, the usual. But I often do some behind the scenes stuff like supply fansubs, and/or other imports.

Advantages of working at Anime FX? The free rentals, that's a given. I've rented all the stuff I never got to see when I was younger. I've met some great people from working there. Elise, Ryan, that pervert Khiri, and that Greenwood obsessed Paul, I enjoy working with them, and those weekends that we spend some time together. Anything else? Oh yeah, that 20% employee discount and 10% mall discount doesn't hurt either.

DISadvantages of working at Anime FX. You guessed it. PEOPLE. Being the anti-social person that I am, it is sometimes very difficult for me to work at that place, especially during the busier hours. There are some really irritating people that come to the store, that I just want to hit, punch, kill, or "d all of the above." The working environment is a little discouraging too. Being in a mall all day long, I run into a LOT of people I don't like. Whether I know them from school, or just plain don't know them, the mall is full of ass-holes. That's.... really about it.

An Escaflowne wall scroll graced with Shoji Kawamori's autograph hangs high atop the Anime FX celing. Lovely, isn't it? Too bad my camera f-ed it up.

This wall scroll was signed in August, at Otakon 1998. The scroll itself belongs to Ryan Camarillo.

Well.. that just about does it for my job! I hope all these tedious words weren't too difficult for you ignorant morons.
