Out Of The Mouths Of Babes

A little girl, dressed in her Sunday best,
was running as fast as she could,
trying not to be late for Bible class.
As she ran she prayed,
"Dear Lord, please don't let me be late!
Dear Lord, please don't let me be late!"

As she was running and praying, she tripped
on a curb and fell, getting her clothes dirty
and tearing her dress.
She got up, brushed herself off,
and started running again.

As she ran she once again began to pray,
"Dear Lord, please don't let me be late!
But don't shove me either."

Little Bobby was spending the weekend with
his grandmother after a particularly trying
week in kindergarten.
His grandmother decided to
take him to the park on Saturday morning.
It had been snowing all
night and everything was beautiful.

His grandmother remarked "doesn't it look like an
artist painted this scenery?
Did you know God painted this just for you?"

Bobby said, "Yes, God did it and he did it left handed."

This confused his grandmother a bit, and she asked him
"What makes you say God did this with his left hand?"

"Well," said Bobby, "we learned at Sunday School
last week that Jesus sits on God's right hand!"

A little boy came up to his mother in the kitchen one
evening while she was fixing supper, and he handed her
a piece of paper that he had been writing on.

After his Mom dried her hands on an apron she read it,
and this is what it said:

For cutting the grass: $5.00

For cleaning up my room this week: $1.00

For going to the store for you: .50

Baby-sitting my kid brother while you went shopping: .25

Taking out the garbage: $1.00

For getting a good report card: $5.00

For cleaning up and raking the yard: $2.00

Total owed: $14.75

Well, his mother looked at him standing there,
and the boy could see the memories
flashing through her mind.

She picked up the pen, turned over the paper he'd written
on, and this is what she wrote:

For the nine months I carried you while you
were growing inside me: No Charge.

For all the nights that I've sat up with you,
doctored and prayed for you: No Charge.

For all the trying times, and all the tears that
you've caused through the years: No Charge.

For all the nights that were filled with dread,
and for the worries I knew were ahead: No Charge.

For the toys, food, clothes, and even wiping
your nose: No Charge, Son.

When you add it up, the cost of my love is: No Charge.

When the boy finished reading what his Mother
had written, there were big tears in his eyes,
and he looked straight up at his mother and said,
"Mom, I sure do love you."

And then he took the pen and in great big letters
he wrote: "PAID IN FULL ".

Barefoot Boy"

A little boy about 10 years old was standing
before a shoe store on Broadway, barefooted,
peering through the window, and shivering with cold.

A lady approached the boy and said,
"My little fellow, why are you looking so earnestly
in that window?" "I was asking God to give me a pair
of shoes," was the boys reply.

The lady took him by the hand and went into the store,
and asked the clerk to get half a dozen pairs of
socks for the boy.

She then asked if he could give her a basin of water
and a towel, and he replied: "Certainly,"
and quickly brought them to her.

She took the little fellow to the back part of the
store and removing her gloves, knelt down,
washed his little feet and dried them with a towel

By this time the clerk had returned with the socks.
Placing a pair upon the boy's feet, she purchased
him a pair of shoes, and tying up the
remaining pairs of socks, gave them to him.
She patted him on the head and said, "No doubt,
my little fellow, you feel more comfortable now?"
As she turned to go, the astonished lad
caught her by the hand, and looking up in her face,
with tears in his eyes, answered the question
with these words, "Are you God's Wife?"
