(2740 mts.) it lies the world of meadow of gold strewn with flowers surrounded
by mountains. The uplands are manteled in the fir and pine, stippled with
birch and sycamore. Gulmarg (3962 mts) offers a magnificient view of
Nanga
Parbhat, is an excellent winter sport centre and golf in summer.

on its regal soil, the legacy of which is survived by the historical monuments,
each a chronicle of the glory of its time and a distinct imprint of the
character of the ruler. From the Rajputs to the Mongols, the Mughals and
finally the British have all contibuted to the various monuments, gardens
and the regal edifices which contributes to what this vast city of Old
and New Delhi sprawling on the Banks of the River Yamuna.
