I look into those eyes and I see an innocent child,
one with hopes and dreams and imaginations that run wild.
A little boy full of plans,
to one day grow up to be a man.
He daydreamed of what he would grow up to be,
a doctor, lawyer or a soldier in the military.
He had alot of plans as a child,
to be somebody and make his Momma proud.
And as a child he never knew
all the Hell that he would go through.
I look at your mischievous smile,
the one that drove the young girls wild.
I see the innocence slipping away,
and manhood slowly taking it's place.
Through the darkness I see your tears.
Your smile replaced with questions and fears.
Standing in the shadows, still in denial,
with open arms awaiting our arrival.
As the years roll slowly pass,
his faith in us is shattered like glass.
His hopes and dreams, he threw away,
just to survive from day to day.
His tears replaced with jagged lines,
with only one question in his mind.
Dear God, why did they leave me behind?

There are so many who are still searching for answers, the TRUTH.
America, we owe it to these POW/MIA's to continue to demand answers,
but even more than the answers, we owe it to them to demand their return.
