Cara lay on her bed thinking. Thinking about what had happened that morning. Taylor had kissed her. He had asked her out and she had said yes. They were going to a movie tomorrow night. She was going to go on a date with Taylor Hanson! Maybe this move wasn't the worst possible idea Jack had ever come up with.

"Cara! Come down here, please!" yelled Robin.

Cara bounded down the stairs to where her mother was calling her from. "What's up, mom?" she asked.

"Well," Robin said smiling. "Someone is in a good mood! Here, Jacob is on the phone." Robin handed Cara the phone.
"Hello Jacob!" said Cara.

"Hey, sis! How's it going? I heard that you and Taylor are... you know."

"Going out to a movie tomorrow? Yes. Anything else, not right now. Who told you?"

"Taylor just called me and told me." Jacob explained.

"Really? I didn't know you two were that close!"

"Oh, yea. We are best friends."

"Cool..." There was slence for a moment.

"You like him, don't you?" asked Jacob finally.

"I..don't...know," answered Cara carefully. "Let's change the subject."

"Um, okay. Do you want your dog back, or am I gonna keep him forever?"

"Ohmigosh!" Cara exclaimed. "I totally forgot about Socks! I'm coming over to get him right now!"

Jacob laughed. "I hope he remembers you!"

"Ha ha. Very funny. I'll be there in a sec." With that Cara hung up the phone. She ran out the door and across the street to where Jacob was standing with Socks on a leash.

"Socks!" yelled Cara as she ran up and started rubbing him. He obviously remembered her.

"Looks like he's glad to see you," said Marie, walking out of the house. Cara gave her a go-to-hell look as she walked past her and Jacob to the mailbox. Marie pulled out it's contents and slid past them both back into the house.

"She does that on purpose, you know." said Cara.

"Does what on purpose?" asked Jacob.

"That! Come out here just to see what we are doing! And giving me those looks. I know she is your mother, but I can not stand her!"

Jacob just laughed. "I know, I know. Now, go! Take your dog for a walk, or something." Jacob practaclly pushed her onto the road.

"Well, fine! Now I know how you really feel about me!" Cara yelled as she was running down the road. Socks was obviously anxious to go for a walk.

Jacob just laughed. He wondered if things would be any different if him and Cara were never related.
