It is difficult to trace the ancestors of Joannes Dotzel because of the
repetition of first names and the German custom of being called by the
middle name. Joannes Dotzel's father is either one of two brothers,
Henrico or Joanni Dotzel. Henrico and Joanni Dotzel's father is probably
Geraldo Dotzel, although there is a possibility that it is Jacob Dotzel
or Mathias Dotzel. Jacob's father might be Peter, while it is clear that
Peter (a second generation iron worker) is the son of Nicoli Dotzel. See
"Descendants of Nicoli DOTZEL ? ". Another thing is also clear is that all
these persons are from the same general area and are surely closely related.
I have located other persons with the surname Dotzel ,in the same area and
the same era, but I can't fit them in the tree.
