Doetzel Ditzel Dötzel Dietzel Dutzel

My name is Drew and I have been working for a number of years now on the DOETZEL family line in Saint Louis, Mo. as well as in Germany. In 1995 I visited the towne in Germany where my great, great grandfather Adam DOETZEL was born (Niederselters). With the help of the town mayor and the towns' two historians,I learned a great deal about my family.
Now, tracing the DOETZEL'S path once they came to the USA in 1849 is quite a bit harder. In fact, I can not find most of the family.

I need help in finding out what happened to:
Caspar DOETZEL 1821-?.............................
Elizabeth Haenchen DOETZEL 1821-? (wife of Caspar)
Auguste DOETZEL 1851-?............................
Gretchen DOETZEL 1853-?...........................

Doetzel Home in the year 1855

I can't say when the DOETZEL house in Niederselters was built but there are tax records from the year 1817 listing the owners of house number 14 as Peter Dietzell (DOETZEL). The house is in an 'L' shaped compound containing several buildings and except for the pig sty all the buildings were rebuilt in the 1930s. The house was handed down through the generations and to this day a DOETZEL descendant lives in the house.
