1953 Gasoline

I can not find any mention of the "1953 Gasoline" promotion in any of my literature,
but I do have the cloth banner at the top of the page as well as this triangular pump sign .
I believe it may have originated in 1952 , possibly as the Gasoline of the Future , as the
"round" White Rose logo shown, was replaced with the new "wedge"shape logo for 1953.

Here is a great photo I found of a White Rose station in Blenheim , Ontario .

           Close examinations reveal some unique items. First, the road sign post is not
        the "?" style (shepards-crook) , normally associated with White Rose stations.
        This sign is the rarely seen , 6 foot dia. porcelain version . A new size for this era,
        this logo was replaced with the wedge logo soon after . It is flanked by a nice
        Dominion Royal Tires curb sign.
           Over the open service bay door is a set of White Rose "wings" consisting
        of a single-sided round sign flanked by "Gasoline" and "Motor Oil". These
        signs were available in two sizes for different size buildings .
        A 3 foot dia. sign and two 8 foot wings make up the smaller version .
        It's big brother used a one-sided 4' dia sign with "wings", ten foot long .
           Getting back to the topic of this monthly feature, two cloth "1953" banners are
        flying over the pump island. On the front panel of each pump is a triangular sign,
        made of cardboard with grommets. A colour photo of this sign can be seen above.
        Close examination of the original photo reveals 3 round signs in the front windows
        all promoting the "New 1953 Gasoline" .
        Colourful flags, flying over the island, make me wonder if this is a "Grand Opening ".
