The Renouned Erawan Series of Waterfalls

In most places, sights from stretches of the river that drop, meanders or goes through rapids could end up as great scenes. For the Erawan, every part of the river's path and its surroundings is beautiful.

The drops at the hill slope or tripling through the plain in the lowland forest. The landscape and the action of the flow simply brings out its charm.

Right at the entrance to the park, we caught sight of this unmistakable signboard.

That was a good shot after driving over 1,600 kilometers from Kuala Lumpur just to be with this waterfall.

There are all together 7 notable falls right from the top of the hills to the plain. Of this number of drops, only 5 of them very distinct, the rest while not dramatic are picturesque.

This 2nd waterfall is featured in many Thai tourist brochures and posters. The water overflows a few steps into a fair size emerald green pool. The complete picture of the fall and the pool is very impressive.
This next fall very close in outlook to the early fall but with slightly taller drop, varies the scene. This fall and the earlier are low falls of 3 meters high and 15 meters wide.
This is the 4th falls. Very popular wadding, swimming and playing pool for the locals. We wish they were not doing that! Now the drop is sharper and the deeper pool altering the shade of the water to bluish hue.
A steep but short climb up the slope, this vertical waterfall is what "seekers" is accustomed to! The 35 meters tall waterfall is accompanied by a large and deep pool. The track going up the hills runs across the top of the fall then leads visitors to the tallest and last fall.

In this Erawan Waterfalls Park, waterfall enthusiast are offered an opportunity to compare their impression of vertical drop waterfall and scenic little cascades. Both sharing the same volume of water.
